SWIM listened to some old music of his dad the other day, and found a song he liked quite good.

SWIM isn't much experienced in the vast variety of drugs. And he is curios to know. Which drugs do SWIY think induced these fellings/thoughts

Yeah that is what I heard too, but of course there may have been some other funky drugs as well. Probably not benzos though, cuz look what happened when SWIM ate a handful of them, drank an unknown amount of booze and forced his band to cover the song:

swim usually feels like he's living solely in the moment when he takes MDMA, but he may be in a minority there! so the answer is yes, in some people.

You don't need drugs to induce thoughts such as those.

Its all in the personality and outlook.


Granted certain substances can help you come to epiphanies or realizations about life that are similar to the lyrics, or a substance can make you feel that way for a short time but nothing can simply change your outlook on life with one ingestion. The drugs simply act as the catalyst for the realization that must come from within you.

Remember, drugs are a means to an end. Whatever that end is, its up to you. You can search for spiritual enlightenment, explore the boundaries of human consciousness, or simply have a kickin time with friends. Regardless of what it is you want to achieve, its good to keep in mind that you can accomplish it without the help of drugs, and you probably should look into that before you use the tool of drugs to aid you in what you want to do.








As to the lyrics themselves, swim feels like that without drugs all the time. All he has to do is be in a good mood, or be his usual optimistic self, or just sit out in nature and reflect, or do any number of other things that can spur this feeling within him. Its just swim's personality, without the influence of drugs.

Life is beautiful, and you don't need drugs to see that. They can help sometimes, but its just as special when you have moments where you can see it for yourself sober.

SWIM is really scared of trying acid, because he thought that it could make him think about those things (life death, what's next etc) and that would get him litterarly insane. And might have to be hospitilized. In normal life, it's easy to avoid thinking those thoughts, as he just wont let himself (thinks about women, cars or something else immediatly to distract himself), because he knows where it would end.

hm, as uncomfortable as it can be to think about "big picture" topics, it may be better for swiy in the long run. psychedelics can help with that, but if swiy doesnt feel ready to do acid, then its best to stay away! err on the side of caution, always. but theres a very low probability that swiy would go insane or be hospitalized. more likely the worst that could happen is swiy would have a bad trip.


but after reading baj's response, yeah, i have to say i agree with that too.

well, sometimes both. truths can come out under the influence of psychedelics that you hadnt thought of before, or did not confront before. but on drugs, some things that are normally difficult to think about will come to light. this doesnt always happen, but swim finds if theres an issue he has been avoiding, or a major event in his life has occured not long before he trips, he'll tend to analyze and think about these things during the trip.

however, that doesnt necessarily mean swiy will bad trip if these things come to mind. psychedelics can also help one find peace with big picture issues, as well as sometimes producing a feeling of unity with the picture as a whole.

these topics have run thru swims head while trippin.

None of them caused a bad trip or anything negative. "the drug" gives you another perspective on these topics. Nothing to be afraid of...

if you do get frightened just remember you are on a trip and it will not last forever.

A good way to think of hallucinogenic substances - excepting disassociatives or other substances that aren't quite normal in how they work - is that they increase sensory input, both extra and intra sensory input.

So extrasensory input is the most obvious enhancement, especially when people describe the experiences. Outside influences are extremely distorted, creating visual hallucinations and weird noises out of normal images and sounds. Also, perception of senses can be very enhanced. You can hear and see things more clearly than before.

What also happens is intrasensory input is increased. So whatever is heavily on your mind when you trip will probably be much more visible than if you weren't tripping. This can be happyness or optimism, or it can be deep-rooted problems you are pondering that may seem very scary to you. Many people quit psychedelics if they encounter these too many times. If you can tough it through and then truly reflect on the experience, then maybe the experience can help you overcome or deal with these problems. If you shy away or just try to use lsd for visuals after this then maybe they will come out in the trip.
