Can ecstasy Pills Lose Their Effect?

The reason I ask is because SWIM had been taking a ridiculous amount of pills when he first got into them, literally it got to a point where he would take about three twice every week, and sometimes four or five. This went on four about three months if I remember rightly.

SWIM then took a break from pills, because he bought a new batch from a dealer he bought from twice before and upon dropping, found out he actually felt quite sick and didn't come up at all.

After a month of not dropping, he tried again but the same thing happened. The situation is exactly the same for his 'dropping buddy', as they took the same amounts and always dropped together.

What's weird is, when SWIM and his buddy snorted a few lines of crushed up pill, they came up and were dancing like idiots all night. And SWIM did a line in a club and he came up massively then, too.

But it's very rare that SWIM comes up from this batch of pills anymore, he just always feels sick, and when he gave one to his friend to try, he didn't really come up either. Weird, right?

SWIM doesn't know whether it's the pills or his body that's causing this, he's worried his body has developed a total immunity to the drug now, or if that's even possible. Do you guys think it's the pills or SWIM?

With untested pills almost anything is possible. SWIY's best bet is to have them tested. If they have MDMA in them, no doubt they'll work unless SWIY's built up an unusually strong tolerance.

SWIM is probably gonna buy a testing kit, it seems like a good product to have in general really. So you don't think a person can really build up a tolerance to MDMA for the amount I described? SWIM is kinda worried that E won't ever work again for him.

After heavy use it might happen. I don't know if you felt the 'honeymoon is over' effect before the pills stopped working, but there are alot of people who say that the so called magic of ecstasy is gone. You may try quitting pills for about a year and then try again.. If it won't help, you probably should leave this part of your life forever.. or atleast for some time..

A tolerance can be built from that amount of dosage. It happened to SWIM. At one stage XTC was SWIM's weekend drug of choice. He felt the need to take more and more in order to reproduce the same level of effects. Staying off XTC entirely for over six months seemed to help bring the effects back in that he had the same initial threshold as his first few rolls but like jarka mentioned, the honeymoon was indeed over. SWIM isn't found of XTC anymore. He might do pure MDMA occasionally but he finds that its effects are actually quite different, more enjoyably so, from the typical XTC pills' effects.

That's really bad news for SWIM if he can't take E anymore, it's basically the love of his life. Although Nature Boy, if SWIY can still come up from pure MDMA that's cool, SWIM'll look into that. And maybe the sixth month break isn't a bad idea either...

SWIJ would say that SWIY could certainly build up a tolerance at that level. For her, anything less than 6 weeks (or so) between roles means seriously diminished effects.

Swim had the same issue as Swiy where the effercts were getting less and less as I'm sure most users do. He also loved it a lot but after a while he just lost interest gradually and stopping taking them didn't take any effort.

If swiy starts taking pure MDMA as a regular thing then while it will seem a lot better than pills for the start, the same thing will happen so Swim would advise Swiy to stop taking pills or MDMA for a while and only do them occasionally.

That's really helpful Matti, thanks. Actually SWIM might have recently made a contact with someone who can help out with MDMA, so SWIM will go down that route. It's kind of like being given a second chance, from what you guys are saying...SWIM definately won't be taking this every weekend.
