Kava-Kava In the UK? Need some good advice

Lets evaluate this imaginary scenario:

Since Kava has been banned in the UK , well actually it's banned in food products and has been 'recommended against' to be used in herbal treatments. Anyone looking for a good quality product in UK will have a hard time.

Since anyone looking for Kava in uk is likely to be new to it, would anyone have any advice on how to get started with Kava in the UK?

So far, research has found only 3 places online that still sell Kava in the UK and this is in Gelcap form of Kava (root) 250 mg which is standardised to 30% kavalactones; (75mg kavalactones)

What is the typical dosage required for noticable effects? would the above mentioned product be of any use? If so what technique would anyone need to employ to extract it efficiently? or would emptying XX amount of Gelcaps into a drink and consuming that be effective enough?

Finally, supposing the above mentioned products were not sufficient enough. Does anyone have any info one where to obtain quality Kava root or paste in the UK? google, normally a very good allie apparently isn't too helpful in such matters.

Oh no, Swim never knew it was banned in the UK. Swim was just about to order some from hawaii but it will just get siezed. Swim will look for the 3 places that sell it in the UK that you found with the aid of google.

Hmm Swim found it and it looks to be of ok price. How many cap would one need to have a nice effect from it? It comes in tubs of 60 at 30%, 250mg caps.

Wow how cool Swim just read that it can also be used as a pain killer, thats good news as Swim is coming off his proscription pain killers.

This kava stuff seems too good to be true!! Do you build up a tolerance to it?

No will be able to tell you where to get Kava because discussion of sources is only allowed in the sources froum. Just had a look and there are a few sources. It seems that most are in the form of 30% gelcaps as you have found. There is also a 70% kavalactone paste.
