I'm sure if you stop, cut back on cannabis (if SIY partake in this) and other drugs, after a bit your body will get used to being unstoned and SWIY should start to feel better.
SWIM has heard of using loperamide (immodium) as a withdrawl helper, but of course, this would NOT help in the constipation area.
SWIM suggests you ween off it, or stop, or whatever you have to (no withdrawl symptoms, ay? 5 years of 3gs a day?), cut back on other drugs. Take a little break for yourself... Read a book, draw some pictures, watch some movies, etc... I'm sure you will feel much better about yourself and life in general.
Keep us updated. Good luck, may everything turn out great for SWIY!

(PS- please don't incriminate yourself... read the rules.)

SWiM used 3 g. a day only in the last year.... before Swim was a weekend user.

SWIM did not used H. in the last 5 days after 4 months of continuous use and didn't experience any withdrawal symptoms except for a moderate leg pain.

When on Heroin SWIM was full of project and very active... he really enjoyed music and life in general.... for that reason he became a daily user, he used it like a cure and not for the "buzz".
... he thought he could deal with Heroin... but there are too much problems involved in mantaining such a dependency (constipation, money, cops...)

He want to find a legal way to boost his serotonin levels.
SWiM suppose he was already depressed before starting using Heroin, and things are getting worse everyday...

The "worse everyday" phrase is of real concern.

The class of anti-depressants known as SSRIs(Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors)..Prozac, Zoloft, and their kin are typically first line therapies for clinical depression.

Now, taking a step back for a second...

Since SWIY is online you can take an online evaluation. While certainly not the last word in diagnotic tools, the tests can be a useful first step. SWIY could print out the test, and bring it to a GP - or better yet, a psychiatrist - for further evaluation.

Depression-screening.org may be a good place for SWIY to start.

SWIY needs to know that SWIY is safe, and if SWIY cannot with certainty state so, then a faster intervention could be in order.

Best of Success to SWIY! Hang in there. The road may be rocky, but it's the right road.

I know how you feel, I'm curantly trying to come of strong pain killers that the Doctor put me on. Opiates are a very effective anti depressant so anyone coming off them is going to feel low for some time.

I feel that life is just shit and thats it. Just try to think of times when you were happy and things that made you happy but not on drugs. Like sports, holidays, Fuck I can't even think of much just now err... Damn my minds blank but I definitely was happy at some point. I used to be full of ambitions and hobbies all the time, eg motocross, enduro, road bike racing, carting, being my own mechanic, making race exhuast systems for british race teams. Wow I did have a life, I always wanted to do new stuff but now I'm just boring. I don't do anything for myself, wont fix my own car or do my own house up. Whats happend to me?? I want the old me back!

Anyway mate I hope you get better, try to find a interesting hobby, maybe that will give you some idea's. You need to keep you mind active although it is hard when your depressed.

Oh try some 5-htp thats a good serotonin booster. Take with amino acids, b vitamins and good fatty acids. Eat bananas, fish, turky, nuts, oats, lots of fresh fruit and veg and exercise along with you supplements and I'm sure you will feel better in time.

Look up body building sites for diets and training advice and if you need a good store for your supplements go to xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx they have reviews on just about every supplement so you can pick the good ones.

DO NOT LINK TO COMMERCIAL SITES! GEESH, OGGY!

Oh and another good thing is to be around friends, thats actualy one thing thats getting me down I was always with my friends and girlfriend, now all my friends have either moved away or have girlfriends so I only see them at the weekends.

My ex girlfriend was a good friend as well and half of her friends were my friends in one big group of people.

Now that I don't see her I don't see them anymore, so going from having people around me all the time to being on my own most of the time is probably a big part of my depression.

I do feel a bit happier now as my mates just called me up to go out for the night, and I've just recently got back into dancing like a maniac at the night clubs and I'm also single whoohoo!!

I never do pull tho... great looking guy as well... must be the shyness.
