We may be under the assumption that our governments are primarily forthcoming and honest with each country's situation as to dealing with security, and personal rights. However, I have stumbled on to a plethora of ideas which ring true, and much to the contrary of the mainstream press. The foundational ideas of which, I think, were all within our own minds before, but much too shocking to beleive, are supported, it seems by many reputable minds of our time, having to do with the war on terror. Nagognog2 - nice link. Imho, Bush will surely remembered as the worst president ever "elected" (heh-heh, 'cept it's not funny). When I read the material in the link, I was reminded of HR1528, introduced by Sensenbrenner and now, hopefully, languishing in obscurity somewhere.



HR1528 is entitled "To amend the Controlled Substances Act to protect vulnerable persons from drug trafficking, and for other purposes." The first part I can understand, but it's that "...for other purposes that makes me angry. Here's the gist of the worst part:

"SEC. 425. (a) It shall be unlawful for any person who witnesses or learns of a violation of sections 416(b)(2), 417, 418, 419, 420, 424, or 426 to fail to report the offense to law enforcement officials within 24 hours of witnessing or learning of the violation and thereafter provide full assistance in the investigation, apprehension & prosecution of the person violating paragraph (a).


`(b) Any person who violates subsection (a) of this section shall be sentenced to not less than two years or more than 10 years. If the person who witnesses or learns of the violation is the parent or guardian, or otherwise responsible for the care or supervision of the person under the age of 18 or the incompetent person, such person shall be sentenced to not less than three years or more than 20 years.'."

Now, let's see... my neighbor, the one with a 17 year old daughter, told me she was giving hubby a joint for his BD. Man, oh man! If HR1528 was law, I'd better tell the cops about it PDQ or I'll be breakin' rocks in the hot sun by day, and getting the love squeeze from Ma Barker by night.

Two years in prison would hardly be enough punishment for my "crime", the one where I wouldn't rat out my neighbor, would it? Come to think of it, maybe my neighbor will be there, too - for maybe three years...or twenty.


HR1528 is one of the symptoms of some kind of fundamentally flawed FU'd thinking going on in the USA today, sorry to say. At least it doesn't appear to be going anywhere. It's troubling, though, that an American congressman would even introduce such an appalling piece of trash.

This is more true than you know. In the Army, troops are being extended out 4 extra months just so the government can report that they are sending less troops. Grrr. That's nearly a year and half long deployment.

i hate the american military. my uncle served in the u.s. air force in the first gulf war. he was in great health, and our family has no history of heart problems, but one day my uncle just up and dies from a heart failure at age 35. this happened in saudi arabia. the military refused to disclose the specific cause of death (they just said he had a heart failure) and almost refused to send his body back here for a proper funeral.

then, my cousin had his term extended right before he was due to come home (he served in the marines).

events like the above really piss me off, because i value family a great deal, and the military treated my family like pawns in some game. there is no value for life, only for money and whatever other ulterior motives might be present. so, don't just fuck bush. fuck america. as an american citizen, i think i'm entitled to say that.
