Re: Famous speeders
Norman Cook aka Fatboy Slim has stated numerously he hasnt performed sober in years and the last show he did sucked.
I also remember reading an article where he'd have fans or was it dancers (the ones paid to perform on podiums) split E's and share em with him while performing at nightclubs. Wish I was there for the big beach boutique, the dvd never looses its appeal. |

Herman Brood
Not many people will know him,(most Dutch people will) he was a Dutch artist. Very nice guy ! was liked by many.. even the non drug users like him. Swim seen him a few times at a night club under a hotel in Amsterdam, he ask swim do you have enough ? While looking in his eyes.. He committed suicide jumping of the Hilton in Amsterdam, he was a regular guest there and was easy to get on the roof there for him (he knew the hotel well) He liked to shoot and sniff amphetamines in large quantities.. |

Re: Famous speeders
French author Françoise Sagan--- used amphetamine frequently, though later on it was pretty much cocaine only.
French author Maurice G. Dantec ( Villa Vortex and roots of evil were written on amphetamines) British cyclist Tom Simpson died of an amphetamine related issue in the Mont Ventoux section of the Tour de France race of 1967- a little anectode which underlines the role played by amphetamines in professional sports, especially in the 1960's and 1970's Jazz singer Dinah Washington died of an alcohol+ amphetamine complication in 1963 as previously mentioned, Philip K. Dick and Hunter S. Thompson really spring to mind. b Last edited by Benga; 14-12-2008 at 13:35. |

Re: Famous speeders
well i don't know about bonds. he failed the test for amphetamine, and i thought it was a team mates prescription or something which is why he tried to blame the other guy. i could be wrong about that.

John Lennon and the other Beatles, first used phenmetrazine (Preludin) then moved onto amphetamines, called "Black Bombers" and "Purple Hearts" while staying in Hamburg, Germany.

Re: Famous speeders
He had the strongest legal amphetamines prescribed, took quaaludes and drank coffee so thick you could almost let a spoon stand in it. He also drenched cotton balls in 100 % liquid medical cocaine. He would then put the cotton in his nose and every time he needed a hit he'd just squeeze his nose.

Re: Famous speeders
Mark E Smith, The Fall - hence the song "Totally Wired"! and quite a few others with speed references in
Brian Epstein, the Beatles' manager who "often had a cough at parties" (sorry don't remember where the quote comes from, i work in a Liverpool museum and there were loads of books on art and culture to read during that exhibition so they all meld into one...) ie. he *discreetly* popped a speed pill at regular intervals... |

John Cooper Clarke, British punk poet (who used to back the Fall) performed on speed. His only and minor hit single, Gimmix! Play Loud, was about speed:
