New "cannabis" political party in holland

"GROENVRIJ" the new party is called in holland. i'm very sorry but i couldn't find any article about it, but i'll try to translate some of their points:

1. members of the party must be able to decide via internet which place in the "Tweede Kamer" will be taken. (Tweede Kamer = The Tweede Kamer is the main chamber of parliament, where discussion of proposed legislation and review of the actions of the cabinet takes place)

2. every European may grow Cannabis for own use from a bag of 10 seeds

3. the ban and limitation on cultivated of undustrial hemp should be stopped. Hemp is THE environmentfriendly alternative for paper, plastic, wood and fuel.

4. more highways, that now only covers 0.23% of the total Dutch landsurface. (agriculture 60%)

5. to only punish and lock up is useless and leads to recurrence of more than 70% in 10 years time. the government has a resocialisationduty.

6. real and practical peace politics aimed at civilians, done by well protected peace workers. put an end to only using military which only attracts more terrorism.

7. *The government should serve the people, not the other way around*.
there should be an end to all the repressive, forcing and intolerant government policy.


there are only 60.000 votes needed for the party to get a seat in the "Tweede Kamer", i think this can definatly be done. lets hope so.

I don't really agree with the sixth point but seeing as they're a Dutch party I don't think it's very relative. Points 2, 3 and 4 all look solid though.

Points 6 also claims that The Netherlands lets itself be used by the US power politics and this should change.
I'd translate 6 as real and practical peace politics aimed at civilians, done by well protected peace workers.

Definitely agree with that. Emphasis being on "real and practical". Most, if not all, international peace-keeping forces throughout history have been jokes.

I do not think General Patrick Cammaert's missions in Africa are a joke. Do a search. But other than that I agree.
