My friend has been offered acid and shrooms twice now without even looking for them. Hes tempted and has tried green and coke a good few times now. The only problem is he doesn't want to try something he knows nothing about, and he knows someone who has supposedly died from acid. Whats the truth about acid and are shrooms any different? Of course this has nothing to do with me i dont support the use of drugs

Physically there is no danger from Shrooms or acid, it's neigh on impossible to physically kill yourself or put yourself in any danger with either. There are however significant psychological risks, ie you could go crazy! Most problems with acid or shrooms acid in particular is when people with pre existing psychological problems take them. For example if someone has bipolar depression etc.
Here are the posative and negative effects of acid: POSITIVE increase in energy (stimulation) increase in associative & creative thinking mood lift increased awareness & appreciation of music increased awareness of senses. (eating, drinking, smell) closed and open eye visuals profound life-changing spiritual experiences NEUTRAL general change in consciousness (as with most psychoactives) pupil dilation difficulty focusing increased salivation and mucus production (causes coughing in some people) unusual body sensations (facial flushing, chills, goosebumps, body energy) unusual thoughts and speech change in perception of time quickly changing emotions (happiness, fear, gidiness, anxiety, anger, joy, irritation) slight increase in body temperature slight increase in heart rate NEGATIVE anxiety tension, jaw tension increased perspiration nausea dizziness, confusion megalomania over-awareness & over-sensitization to music and noise paranoia, fear, and panic unwanted and overwhelming feelings unwanted life-changing spiritual experiences flashbacks It would be advisable to use Shrooms before acid as they tend to be a little more controlable and less intense. SWIF has tried both and finds Shrooms more fun and acid more of a head wreck. Good luck doing whatever you choose, dont forget to post an experience report and feel free to ask any further questions. |

To SWIM, he says LSD is much more controlable than mushrooms.
SWIM is more in his own world and outside people can disrupt his positive feelings very easily, whereas on LSD, SWIM may get uncomfortable at points, but can always handle it better. Everyone is different, though. LSD is non toxic and SWIM believes people can not OD on it. Last edited by Jatelka; 20-08-2006 at 19:07. |

There is a risk that when taking a strong Psychoactive like acid that you become unaware of your surroundings. This coupled with the inability to make logical thought could lead to something dangerous which results in death.
A Classic example would be someone who believes that they can fly, they can even see their wings so they jump off a 4 story building an plummit to their death. This is why a trip sitter, or someone who is not as intoxicated is advised with these substances to prevent such an event from occuring. If Your friend wants to take LSD or SHrooms he should do alot of research about them prior to using. |

Read up on it a bit more. Check out this sites' LSD basics thread: http://drugs-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9498 Also check out: http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/lsd/lsd_faq.shtml Those are two good places to start. Don't jump into LSD without knowing what you're doing. Having researched the drug beforehand, the eventual experience will be a lot more reassuring and rewarding. |

Can anyone tell me how bad acid is for you in the long term? Loads of people have told me that if you do acid 3 times you're classed as officialy insane
. Swim has done acid 3 times in total now (all have been in the 2 weeks), and swim wants to do more acid. Is this safe as swim is already pretty fucked in the head from other drugs and doesn't want to make it too much worse.

Helps preserve the magic and makes sure you dont "drop out" as Leary says which just gives entheogen users a bad name. Psychedelics should help you reflect on life and keep you on the right path, not be your life and take you completely off any path. |
