meth results as drug test?

hey everyone. i need major help. a friend went in for a drug test, and it showed positive for meth. she takes zoloft, but thats all that i can think of that could maybe effect the results...

she took vicodin 6 days ago, but she should be clean right? and plus... arent opiates a different category from meth?

any ideas what could have happened or if vicodin could trigger the UA and show up as meth?

please help ASAP!

I'm presuming SWiYou mean methamphetamine, not methadone. Opiates won't show up as amphetamines. I suppose that there is the slimmest chance that Zoloft, being a stimulant SSRI, could perhaps give a false positive for amphetamines, but it's not something i have ever come across happening before. A quick Google brings up a few anecdotal reports though. I'd suggest telling your friend to get in touch with the testers & request that a gas chromatography-mass-spectroscopy (GCMS) screen be run on the sample as well, to lessen the chances of false positives turning up, as urinalysis is the cheap, cheerful, but very unreliable end of the drug-screening market.
