Swim always hears doctors/specialist perscribe adderall, but swim has always wondered what kind of doctor. Is it something a family doctor can perscribe? Thanks ahead of time. Swim has been wanting to get this off his back

Actually doctors are quite likely to prescribe it.

Swim just finished a couple month stint working at a hospital. He would often sort the mail and saw all sorts of advertising packages with free gifts and trials and info and other little tchotchkes sent by the company that makes adderall.

In the three months swim worked there he saw at least 5 different shipments of these ads to all the doctors in the hospital, even the ones who don't deal with those sorts of things so that they could maybe recommend it to people.

Shameless.... this is why doctors overprescribe so much, the pharmaceutical companies are playing to their desire for a quick fix and brainwashing them all the while.

adderall can be obtained from a physiciatrist.they are smart though so dont go in and start spouting off about how swiy cant focus and loses his or her car on a regular basis.they will steer swiy toward wellbutrin or some other anti-depressant.the feds watch all amphetamine scripts so docs are loath to write them.adderall and dextro arent really worth a swiys effort to obtain anyway.they cant be magically turned into meth and smoking or snorting the stuff is a waste of time.it isnt crack,it isnt meth.its recreational use is dissapointing to say the least.shiz..

Any MD can prescribe this medication, but a psychiatrist would be more likely to prescribe it. Family Dr.'s don't like to prescribe Adhd medication and will usually try something like Shiznat said Wellbutrin or strattera.

There are specialists in the ADHD field, plus usually they are in pediatrics also.
