prescription issues
i have a pain in my stomach, and went to the ER. They prescribed me vicodin 5/500s, but they dont do much for me cause I use OCs on a semi regular basis.
WTF should i do next time I got to the er and they want to write me a script for this bullshit. i think if I tell them what I've told you, they wont prescribe me narcotic pain killers, because they will think i will abuse them. In this instance, I'm just looking for legitimate pain relief. They took x rays, cat scans, and gave me an ultrasound and took urine samples and blood. They cant tell me whats wrong, but they sent me home with a cheap script for 15 5/500 hydrocodones which really arent dont me any good. Can anyone offer any suggestions? |

yeah theres probably not much swiy can do except go back when theres an acute flare up and hope to get a different doctor, and tell them that the hydros didnt do much to stop the pain.
not using oxys would seem like the best solution to get the tolerance down. but if swiy doesnt want to stop or won't stop, maybe look into making poppy tea to help control the pain. use the search engine to find out how! |

Secondly, SWiYou're lucky to get anything vaguely narcotic at all for an unspecified stomach pain which isn't giving any results on tests. It's possible that either tolerance is high due to recreational use; it's also possible that the paracetomol is irritating SwiYour stomach, negating any benefit from the opiates. Try a cold water extraction to get rid of the paracetomol. If that doesn't work, try Gaviscon. Failing that go to your g.p., & tell him/her that the opiates prescribed so far haven't been cutting it. S/he may send SWiYou for more investigations if it persists. |

Could you possibly expand on the pain in your stomach.SWIF might be able to advise further if he knew a little more about the pain.
TO micklemouse: SWIF has been prescribed Morphine and Buprenorphine for some time for unspecified stomach pain. But then again he lives in the UK not the USA... |
