Political Standing/Perspective of Drugs-Forum Members

A person's political viewpoint is a very complex entity that is hard to sum up in few words or use to categorize the person into a distinct group. The current popular labels of "liberal" and "conservative" don't really mean much much in today's environment. Hence the need for a political compass.

Some people on this site may have seen this before, http://www.politicalcompass.org

It is a site where you can take a moderate length survey that questions the level of agreement you have with certain propositions and then get your placement on a "political compass".

Basically the compass is split into four sectors. The four labels are Authoritarian and Libertarian for the 'y' axis (which denote a person's leanings towards either facist or anarchist tendencies) and simply Left and Right for the 'x' axis (which denotes the person's economic preference between collectivism and neo-liberalism).

Since I have started frequenting this site I have often wondered what the political preferences are of the members here. I think that most members of this site are more likely to lean towards the libertarian side of the 'y' axis but I'm not really sure about the economic viewpoint.

If you have the time, take the political compass survey (accessed through the link above) and post your results and select the appropriate poll option so we can have a better visual of the political demographics of the forum.

Bajeda's Political Compass

Economic Left/Right: -6.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.46

That makes me a leftist libertarian that is slightly stronger than the median for either of these sides. I think it fits in pretty well with what I originally thought of my political perspective, though some of my friends were surprised at the results when they took the test!

Please don't select an option on the poll if you haven't taken the test. That way we can all be on the same page as to what exactly the options mean.
