water solubility of dihydrocodeine
what is the water solubility of dihydrocodeine? swim doesnt know if he is phrasing this question correctly, what he is trying to ask is how much water would it take to dissolve x amount of dihydrocodeine, what is the ratio? swim is doing a cold water extraction on 12 pills containing 500 mg of paracetemol and 7.46mg dihydrocodeine, so all together there will be 6g of paracetemol and 89.52mg of dihydrocodeine. any help greatly appreciated.
p.s if this is meant to be in the chemistry section (swim wasnt sure) would one of the mods please put it there? |

hard to say how much water, volume-wise, would be needed. swim says that just enough water to dissolve the pills in without having residue at the bottom is what swiy would need. a cupful should do it. sure its a bit extra to chug at the end, but why risk not dissolving some of the pills?

Usually supplied as a tartrate for medical use, one gram of dihydrocodeine tartrate dissolves in 4.5ml (cc) of H2O. Freebase material is soluble in alcohol and alcohol H2O.
Now go get a Merck Index! Read it in bed - you'll love it! |

Type: Merck Index into Google or similar. Seek and ye shall find, my rabid vampire-child.
If you know someone who is fond of playing with chemicals (in any way), and only can afford on BIG book per year, this is one to put on the top of the list. |

the merck index contains all you need to know about the physical properties of chemicals.
