Insulting ppl on MDMA
Swim was curious to know if anyone else has experienced something like this.. he saw an old friend about 3 yrs ago his friend was rolling while he wasn't.. then he started talking about swim in a negative way, being a real asshole, putting down his heritage and such.. swim got over that and thought nothing else of it.. but a couple of weeks ago swim was rolling and a different friend was drinking with him, and all of the sudden swim started insulting his good friend who wasn't rolling.. it was funny b/c there was a lot of ppl around but the friend of swim didn't think so.. swim didn't realize till during the comedown what he had said.. awful things.. he apologized and that was that.. Guess swim thought he was better than some ppl while under the influence of E.. dont know..Was this just a coincidence or has this happened b4...

Hmmmm, I haven't heard of something exactly like that, but I do know people who react quite oddly to E.
A friend of mind gets very violent while on E. He wants to fight and hurt people. Never his friends mind you, but he just looks to pick fights with random strangers, preferably nazis or other people he already despises. I just simply can't understand it as I can't imagine even thinking about possibly wanting to think about hurting someone while on X. I guess some people just have odd reactions to the drug. Not everyone gets the empathic feelings. Sometimes people just react oddly to the drug once, sometimes they always get the same weird reaction. It depends on the person I guess. Also, my friend swim tells me that he finds that while E makes you more prone to empathising with people, it doesn't necessarily make you love people you already hate. Maybe swim's friend had some sort of grudge or deeply rooted feeling towards swim that he hadn't been able to express before and it just came out. E tends to make you express your true feelings rather than creating love and empathy where none exists. Just a few thoughts. |

It does sound quite weird yes, but I have also noticed this. The guy I have seen acting like this (more than once) was on a lot of different medicines at the same time though, so that is probably the answer.

Where do you run across nazis?
SWIM always complements friends while on MDMA. He never feels violent, or like he is better than anyone. He just feels completely at peace and everyone and everything. He likes to just hang with friends and express to them how much they mean to him and how good of a time they are having. There was one experience where one of SWIMS friends roomates started insulting SWIM and his friends while he was rolling. SWIMs friends lived with this guy named R. R seemed cool, but he turned out to be a real scumbag. He was being cool when everyone was around him, but when SWIM and friends went to sleep, he started talking bad about them. R told SWIMs friend that their other roomate, who was sleeping with SWIM at the time, should fuck SWIMs girlfriend. He also started complaining about his roomate who was sleeping with SWIM. He said he was a loser and couldnt even find something cool to do that night. R was talking to SWIMs friend, who later told us SWIMS what had been said. They confronted him about it and eventually had to kick him out of their house. When they told him to leave, he punched one of SWIM's friends lights out! R was obviously a loser who was just taking advantage of SWIMs friends. It might not have even been the mdma that made him start insulting people. E is the love drug, not the hate drug. |

A Certain Mouse read these posts over my shoulder, & couldn't help chuckling, having had the dark, dry, cynical side of himself come to the fore on more than one occasion whilst on E. Although usually the fluffiest of rodents, he's often come to points in his life when percieved fools will not be suffered, when the enforced lovey-ness that some people seem to feel is necessary has just jarred too much, when after a while having the same conversations with the same people week in, week out, watching the same people do the same things, having the same avoidable crises, just wears thin. Familiarity breeds contempt after a while, both with people & with chemicals, & it was around this point that the Mouse took a bit of break to reassess himself & what he was doing.
He was going through something of a transitional time in his life, & as Bajeda pointed out MDMA can open up all sorts of hidden boxes, & can if the time is right allow someone to be a lot more honest about how they are feeling & what they want. What A Certain Mouse wanted at that time was honesty in his interactions, not being told 'I love you, man!' by some sweaty, gurning munter he'd never met before, nor probably wouldn't meet again, to go out to play & be allowed to play if he wanted without being mauled & hugged by people he had no interest in hugging, to have a decent conversation that didn't involve the quantity or quality of chemicals ingested. You get the picture? Now although not the fluffiest of experiences, I feel what the Mouse was experiencing at the time was a form of empathy, as he was hyper-aware of the falseness of the experience, that people seemed to be chasing an unattainable & cliched goal by repeating the same set of behaviours time & time again, which after a while becomes a self-defeating exercise, as the risks begin to outweigh the benefits, & the comedowns vastly outweigh the high. What he was tapping into was the sheer desperation to feel different, the futility of what was going on around him & what he himself was doing, the fact that people, himself included, where trying too damn hard & getting nowhere. This led to some quite disparaging remarks being passed, & more than one bubble being burst. Empathy is a connection. That connection isn't always going to be nice & fluffy; sometimes it's going to stark & spiky, & go beyond the surface that is being presented. True empathy is connecting to the true feelings underneath the surface, & can be hard to deal with. Again, as has been touched on before, different peole have different reactions, & MDMA being something of a truth drug at times can allow people to say things they wouldn't normally say. Often though I think the nastier things that are said are more a projection of the speakers insecurities, put onto those around them (and again, the Mouse doesn't discount this as a possible explanation for his own experiences with the 'dark side' of E) - it's always easier to see problems outside one's Self than it is to be honest, hold your hand up & admit to not being satisfied or happy. That said, some people are just dicks, & no amount of empathogens, love or kindness will change that. Luckily for the Mouse, & for his nestmates, this phase passed with time, patience & good hard look at himself (not pretty, but ultimately worthwhile!). I think I'll shut up now - hope all this wittering makes some sort of sense! |

Yes this is kind of opposite of what mdma does to SWIM most of the time, he ussualy has love for everyone and even if there is a person who SWIM does not like that much he is ussualy overly nice to them.
