Experiences - Absinthe experiences

Fairly odd drinking experience last night, quite possibly the drunkest I've been in a while but strangely enough, I was well over my limit and didn't even realise it. I couldn't remember a thing when I woke up.

I started off the night with three bottle of Bavara Brazilian beer, followed by six Corona Extra and was feeling great. Next thing I know, in comes a friend with a bottle of green Absinthe from Turkey. Thinking it was the normal 40% vol. stuff we get over here, I lashed back five shots without much difficulty. Next thing I know, someone tells me that the stuff was 70% vol. and I had totally overdone it. It was probably the first time in years that I was extremely pissed in front of my friends (most of them being relatively lightweight).

When I woke up this morning, I was told that I had broken someone's finger, gotten in two fights (nothing too serious) and that I was supposed to be drunker than I ever was. Anything like this ever happen to someone? Absinthe is deceptively strong shit.
