swim has just bought a plant from the nursery all it says on it is poppy paenifloruem -black cloud- thats all it says i was wondering if any one knew if this had any potental to hold opium. well enough to even matter?

Poppy paenifloreum is a made up name it seems, bastardised from Peony Poppy, which is another name for Black Cloud, which itself is another name for - Da Daah! - Papaver Somniferum!

do poppy plants bleed natruly or do they have to be cut?

you need to scrape the pod with a sharp object then let it bleed.
Cultivators cut in the morning then collect in the evening, next day do it again. until no sap remains.
