Opinions - shrooms vs. acid

not sure about you, but ive done both more than 10 times per... and honestly cant tell a difference. as far as im concerned they're identical in their affects.

shrooms always have a more organic feel to swim, whereas acid has a slightly darker "synthetic" feel. this makes sense, given their origins, but swim cannot tell if these feelings are due to anything inherent in the drugs themselves, or if it is a placebo effect due to swim thinking about where each drug comes from. i guess to truly find out, he'd have to do a blind study where he took either acid or shrooms, but couldnt tell which, then rated it versus another trial with the other drug, and later found out which was which.

maybe consider adding to the poll an option or two where someone likes them equally, whether they feel the same or different?

I agree, my friend swim feels a bit "shroomy" after taking some boomers. That is he feels like he is connected to all of nature and almost feels rooted into the ground and is able to feel nature's pulse. While on shrooms he also hates being inside and would much rather be out in a more natural setting.

With acid swim can be anywhere, though again he prefers outside. He can also use technology in the trip, such as a computer or TV to look at trippy stuff. While on shrooms swim feels totally incapable of using technology and is too detached from the human world to really pay attention to a video or something. Also swim finds the visuals to be quite different between the two.


The main difference for swim is that his acid trips seem to be more light hearted and even when they make his brain work extra hard he doesn't feel too bad. Sometimes after a shroom trip his head will ache from all the intense thinking he has been doing. There are other aspects too that make a difference but swim thinks he has covered the main ones already.

He likes lsd better, though if he wants a more spiritual experience he will probably turn to shrooms.

For SWIM mushrooms have always been his absolute favorite drug. He has never had a bad trip, he feels comfortable he can control any situation on mushrooms, and he loves the mmore every time he takes them. He loves the come up, he loves the peak, he loves the comedown, and he loves the after effects. They always leave SWIM with such an incredible sense of peace with the world and in the greatest mood afterwords. In SWIMS eyes there is no downside to mushrooms and they can do no wrong for him.

The effects are very similar IMO but SWIM prefers acid. That all boils down to availability, cost price and intensity. Perhaps mushrooms are more convenient in that the trip usually doesn't last longer than four hours. An acid trip can seem like a lifetime.

SWIM likes both a lot, but enjoys Shrooms better for one reason: Longevity of trip. A Shroom trip is not nearly as long as an LSD trip.

LSD is a hell of commitment that SWIMorY can wish to end when they still have four hours to go.

Swim used to be that way with Mushrooms. Then he went on a period of doing them every day only missed maybe 3 or 4 during a 6 week period in the fall when they were growing in Swims area. The magic is now lost to Swim, every trip even after a year of not doing any hallucinagens is full of anxiety and sadness. swim thinks both are similar but their are defintaly differences. mushrooms seem more introspective IMO while lsd deals with the world around you,swim finds things hilarious on mushrooms but swim thinks the laughter on acid is unbeatable.mescaline is also similar to the two in swims opinion but it still has enough differences to be considered unique.

I believe LSD is different, Shrooms is more mild, and shrooms seems to mess with my head more, like it just . LSD is much more visual and much more euphoric (obviously bad trips are far worse too though). It lasts longer, it is more intense, and its cheaper. LSD just has a bad rep because many irresponsible people have tainted its reputation. You dont hear news stories about 2 guys dropping acid who have the greatest day of thier life, but when one irresponsible person freaks otu everyone hears about it. As long as u appreciate its power, and respect it, it can be a POSITVE experience i belive LSD has been victim of more exagerations and scare tactics than marijuana.
I also enjoy mushrooms thuogh, since niether one is very prevelent around here, basically u take whats around.
I can understand what u say when u say they are similar, tripping in general is very similar, acid, shrooms, dxm, mescaline, they all have their differences but they are all similar in the basic effect, there is just certain differences in perception and duration

hmmm... hard one to answer here. really good mushrooms are better than (almost?) anything. good acid is definitely better than mediocre mushrooms. with mushrooms also different strains will show different characteristics of the high like marijuana. this makes it way more versatile in the overall picture and therefore earns the sacred mushroom an edge on acid. the trips are honestly rather different all in all. LSD always seemed fairly tame by comparison to swim. you can get higher easier on acid. compare the act of eating an ounce of dried fungus to eating 20 pieces of small paper or a little itty bitty bit of liquid. the hardest and highest you can go is DMT though but that is off topic so im probably gonna just stop typing now. cheers.

thats ok because that "I" didnt imply anything bad and thusly is in accordance with the rules. you could easily have acquired that opinion/knowledge from doing a little reading. however the "my" that follows it and the several other "I"s would be a problem.

no question about it alice is much better. BUT,BUT, a combo of the 2 is well worth it.

i remember this time at band camp when SWIN took 4 white fluff and 3 hours later took 7 grams of hawaiins.

LSD goes much farther than any other psychedellic. The only thing that SWIM knows of that can even start to come close to LSD is 2-CE. This is not to say that other psychedellics are not useful, they are, they just don't take it as far as LSD does.
