A few coffe shop questions

Swim is thinking about visiting Amsterdam for about 3 days. He likes to smoke weed but quite small amounts (an eighth will last him ages). When Swim goes he would like to try quite a few strains and wants to know what is the smallest amount that one could buy. In the Uk when you buy weed, an eigth is usually the norm and that would last swim a lot longer than his time there and he isn't willing to bring any back.

Also what method of smoking is usual in coffee shops, does everyone usually smoke from spliffs or pipes, or do the coffee shops provide bongs?

In the Netherlands there is a maximum of 5 grams total per person. It depends a lot upon the coffeeshop what minimum they will allow. Normally this is 1 gram, but if SWIM finds a friendly coffeeshop or a friendly person behind the counter, SWIM might be able to get a smaller amount per strain, since SWIM will be buying a larger amount in total.

Joints are the most common way of smoking weed & hashish, but bongs and vaporizers are normally available in coffeeshops. One can ask for this at the counter.
