ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh... SWIM cant sleep!! Is there some unspoken rule that you cant sleep till the glowsticks stop glowing?
Anyway to burn off some energy... the night was really really insane. The first 2 Djs were ok.. not soo bad.. but not the main show. But when Sion came onstage it was incredible. A screen came down over the stage and started projecting some really incredible images.. and he played the first hour (was it 10 minutes? was it 10 hours?) from behind the screen. Really great intro to what would be a long long night. Ok.. SWIM has to sleep.. somehow.. but the best part of the night was when they turned all the lights off and they had these HUGE black lights strewn all over the place and maxed them out. Everyones eyes were light white... and Sion was controlling this pulsing green laser.. OMG.. ok.. swim has to stop typing.. must stop... ok bye later

Not bad. I like my psytrance to be a bit more mindblowing but it sounds like it would fit in perfect at a rave. Swiy must have had fun if he took that 2C-T4!

Oooops.. sorry I posted track 2 by mistake first. Sorry.. ok this is in the correct order now. You dont have to go to the music forum you can just click on the link here. I am working on a more permanent way to have this in the music forum but not quite figured it out yet.

No.. SWIM didnt take the 2C-T4 that evening... SWIM thought about it and decided with 2C-C because SWIM did have to work the next day. But SWIM added an extra 10 MG to his usual dose of 2C-C and it was amazing.

I don't quite remember what the music was. If it was psytrance then the artists below may be good for you.

Astral Projection
Infected Mushroom
Man With No Name
Hallucinogen
Cosma
Man Made Man
Cygnus X
GMS
Ominus
Skazi
Alien Project
Astrix
Analog Pussy
Psytekk
Shpongle
Cybernaut
Cydonia
S.U.N. Project
1200 Mics
Dimension 5
Asarualim
The Delta
Total Eclipse
Cosmosis
Green Nuns of the Revolution
The Infinity Project
Juno Reactor
Voodoo People
X-Dream
Ayahuasca

Check out some of those. They all have a fairly intense psychedelic feel and are good get "fucked up and rave" artists, with the exception of Shpongle which is more of a "take drugs, lay back, and trip out" type of artist.

Let me know what you think of these and I can probably help you out some more.

In my opinion these artists are utter shit and can only be described as "psychedelic" by a very long stretch of the imagination. But then, this is only my opinion. If you want truly challenging and genuinely psychedelic music, there are far better artists out there.

Ok, since you called the most succesful and well known psytrance/goa artists shit could you produce some names?

I know alot of psytrance DJs from Mexico and Israel who have similar tastes to me when it comes to Goa. One of them has gotten his tracks played at clubs in Israel.

It may not sound psychedelic to you but its still fucking good psytrance. It may not be the best, but if you look through all the artists I listed pretty much most of the great psy artists are listed.

Please back up your opinion by firstly telling me how these artists are utter shit and aren't psychedelic, and then produce some artists of your own that are oh so superior to these.

Drugs-forum doesn't like trolls. Just because you have different musical tastes doesn't mean you spout utter crap with no backing it up.

Where shall we start? I'm thinking of names like Azax Syndrom, Derango, Broken Toy, Absolum, EVP, Fractal Glider, Fungus Funk, Kindzadza, Koxbox, Naked Tourist, Scorb, Error Corrective, Braincell, Phonic Request, Seroxat, Grapes Of Wrath, Neuromotor, Penta, Parasense, Shift, etc. The only people I'd listen to on your list are the classics like Green Nuns, Hallucinogen, Comosis and Shpongle (not really that trance).

So? I know a lot of DJs and producers who have had tracks played in respectable venues?

I said that I think they are utter shit. This is mainly because I find their music formulaic, uninspiring and very very cheesy. Listen again to Skazi - look at his sponsorship deals, horrific remixes and pathetic guitar posturing. Tell me what exactly is psychedelic about this. Other artists like Infected, GMS and 1200 Mics haven't made a good tune in years and year. Everything they are churning out now is trashy hard trance cheese completely devoid of the multifaceted layers and beauty that makes music psychedelic for me. There's nothing that keeps the brain ticking along and provokes interest thought patterns - it's just the same old boom boom boom I can hear anywhere else with overused samples and breakdowns. Boring.

SWIY should take some strong acid and check out the names I mention above before attacking me for giving my opinion.

i REALLY like kindzadza, penta, para halu, derango, scorb, ocelot, grapes of wrath. i tend do go for the darker side of psy-trance, which is definately the most mind-blowing and psychedelic, this is not a really only an opinion, its more of a fact. this is also the psy-trance made with LSD, this "LSD-creativity" you can recognize once you know how to listen to this music. if you really listen to it, and understand how to listen to it it can take you very VERY deep. it goes a lot further than just hearing and enjoying the music.

A LOT of music at parties is made to "hear", but this is music that you should "listen" to. if one takes a psychedelic (preferably acid), and listens to good psy-trane, he/she understands it quickly and better, because it is made from and for psychedelics.
