will center punching or using a standard wood drill crack a piece of roughly 3 inch thick rounded glass?

hmm not sure, SWIM sometimes uses a hammer and a nail to make a hole in glass allthough SWIM has never made a hole in something that is 3 inches thick.- if you do use the hammer and nail technique SWIM says to slowly and gently hit the nail with the hammer to make the hole and not hit it hard as this will break the whole glass into peices.
