although swim has never tried using st johns wort, he doesnt think it would be very effective in making mhrb orally active; usually much stronger maoi's are used.

Can someone please explain to me why St. Johnsworth is frequently described as St. Johns wart by some of our members?

Because 'wort' is a word rarely encountered in English, so the average English speaker will swap it out for something more familiar. Hence we end up with 'wart' instead of the correct 'wort.' And that's WORT, not WORTH, Alfa. LOL.

St. John's Wort, or Worry-Wort.

Wort is an old English word meaning "herb" or "plant". It stems from Old English wyrt ( <PIE *werad-, 'branch, root'), meaning a plant or herb. It is used chiefly in combination: Dragonwort, St. John's Wort are two examples
