Health - Psilocybin Mushrooms and Psychological Disorders

SWIM REALLY, REALLY wants to trip, but he is the pefect "poster child" of someone who should not be anywhere near mushrooms. He is borderline depress, very very shy, very timid and take everything to heart. SWIM is always worried about what people think of him, and feels most people look at him funny when he walks in a room. He is not really happy with his job, income, social status, self esteem, ect ect the list goes on. SWIM can't really even smoke weed anymore because of the paranoia that he gets from it.

HOWEVER!! SWIM wants to try shroom so bad he cant stand it. Not totally sure why. It just seems interesting. He's never tried a psychedelic drug before. He's only smoked weed done coke and done ecstasty a few times.

But his question is... is there a "grey area" that he could get to without totally tripping vs. just getting giggling and maybe just a little bit of visuals?? like maybe .5 grams or .75 grams??

PS This is his fist post under this name, have been a member for about 18 months now. So he has used the search button and have read A LOT, thanks!!

Shrooms do not sound like the drug for swiy at the moment!

They are very mentally intense and if you take enough to achieve visual effects you are going to be having quite a powerful trip!!

Swim also finds that if you have personal problems or things that are bothering you the trip can reflect this state of mind, which can lead to some very unpleasant experiences.



Swim thinks mid-range extracts of Salvia Divinorum (10x, 15x) may be a good way for swiy to tip-toe into the world of tripping without getting badly burnt. Swim also thinks that MDMA might be a good experience for swiy if he could find some cool friendly people to do it with in a comfortable setting. This may help swiy with his depression and social problems if he does it right.

SWIM does not recommend tripping with the type of thinking SWIY is doing..SWIM has only eaten shrooms twice, both were low doses (about 1/16th oz.) .. the second time she had a very unpleasant experience because of her low self-esteem and idea of low self-worth..the whole night was spent just thinking about how much SWIM disliked herself and how if she had just done this in the past, then this or that would be better now and on and on and on..

SWIM suggests trying to come to terms with SWIY's insecurities through therapy, meditation, or even just talking with someone SWIY trusts.

SWIM realizes that this thread is pretty old and the original poster probably already chose whether or not to trip..just thought SWIM would bump this thread back up in case someone might find it helpful.

swiy should stay away from psychedelics.
swiy sounds like they may be in the prodromal phase of schizophrenia.
