after doing some research, swim found that clomipramine should not be combined with:
  • MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine) : Severe reactions including central excitation, hypertensive crises, bizarre behaviour, psychosis, seizures, coma and death are possible.
  • Central Stimulants : Potentially dangerous central excitation with agitation and anxiety may be encountered.
  • SSRI type antidepressants (eg. Fluoxetine) : Side effects of Clomipramine are increased.
  • Drugs with central depressant activity (tranquilizers, alcohol, narcotics) : Increased central depression (dizziness, drowsiness etc.) is frequently noted.
  • antihypertenive drugs : The risk of hypotension, collapse, and tachycardia is increased.
a few sites swim looked at said that the "yawn orgasm" is indeed a real side effect, occurring in about 5% of people who take clomipramine. oddly enough in other people, it can actually inhibit the ability to orgasm...and one site swim looked at gave him the Quote of the Night:

"One male patient said that while he found the repeated climaxes 'awkward and embarrassing, he elected to continue the medication because of the therapeutic benefit he obtained. The awkwardness and embarrassment were overcome by continuously wearing a condom.' "

SWIM's advice if swiy takes this drug is to find the most boring activity swiy can, and wait for the sexy results

Kratom and valium would both fall into drugs with central depressant activity.

Looking at the symptoms of combining both "dizziness, drowsiness, etc.", they seem to be denoting increased intoxication.

However, this could also mean that they are signs of a dangrous level of central nervous system depression...SWIM doesnt know much about clomipramine, so he can't say if they'd increase the effects or would simply be dangerous. His best advice is to not try any combinations until SWIY is familiar with the effects of clomipramine itself, and if combining, start with lower doses of each drug. But since all of these drugs seem to be depressants, it would probably not make sense to combine them. Experiment with clomipramine on its own, and then tell swiy to save the kratom and valium for another day.
