Combinations - crack and heroin - advice on combining

Someone I know would like do this. He has mainly used crack up to now. He does not use a ton of rock up so coming down or going to sleep has not been that much of a problem. But he would now lilke to use heroin both for pleasure and if he takes the odd amount of crack where the come down or sleeping would be difficult. What are your experiences and what would you recommend?

No one here is going to tell you how to do something that has proven to kill many people. The answer is: Tell SWIM not to do this. It puts a huge strain on the heart and can easily cause a coronary.

Absolutely. Run a search on speedballing - a potentially very dangerous, possibly fatal combination.

If SWIY's friend is determined to do it anyways, (probably is), swim would recommend the heroin first, and once that is at full effect, then begin using the crack. The real danger with speedballing comes with the stimulant effect of the crack covering up an overdose of heroin, so when the short acting effects of the crack wear off, the user is then ODing on heroin...swim thinks this could be avoided by doing the heroin first.

Yes, sounds very dangerous- combining extreme stimulant with extreme depressant could go bad easily. Be careful.

Swim thinks this is a very bad idea. As mentioned earlier, mixing extreme opposite types of drugs is a bad idea. Even mixing just regular opposites isn't great as the synergisitc effect goes one direction or the other and multiplied many times.

In any case, if there is no way swim is going to change his mind about doing it he might as well read about how others did it as well as similar combinations.

Cocaine and heroin is a fairly famous combination often referred to as speedballing. In other areas speed and heroin go by the same name. Either way, this combination places a fair amount of strain on the heart, and John Belushi and River Phoenix have both died of a speedball combination (morphine is also sometimes substituted for heroin in this combo.)

An interesting aside is that cocaine use actually increases the number of opiate receptors. The more receptors you have, the more drug it takes to fill them, and therefore the more drug you need to get you stoned. So using coke actually increases your tolerance to heroin..
