Music on drugs.

Seems a lot of people here are into music, which is nice. So, what' s your favorite artist/song to listen to on....

Alchohol - Usually stuff I'm embarassed to listen to sober, or in any other mind state anyway. Last time I got drunk I was listenning to Third Eye Blind.

Weed - Weed makes me think. So, I like to hear music with depth. A few layers on a timeline won't do no matter how good it is. I really listen to any genre it just has to make you think ie trying to unravel the meaning of the lyrics or hearing background effects. I plan on listenning to Styles of Beyond next time I get stoned if that tells you anything.

Crack - Anything quiet haha.

Speed - War music. Killswitch Engage or metal/metalcore usually. I'm pumped up usually and ready to go so it's usually the heaviest, fast-pace music I can find.

Xanax - Mellow, soft, acoustic rock like Alantis Morisette.

PS: Does anyone else put colors to songs or am I just abnormal?

Any Simon Posford project (Hallucinogen, Shpongle, Younger Brother,Celtic Cross), Infected Mushroom, Hux Flux, Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, Autechre, Oforia, and Space Tribe ae good for any drug in my opinion. But when im stoned I usually listen to songs with lyrics, usually something happy and uplifting or just something deep Ozric Tentacles, Pink Floyd, Grateful Dead, Phish, Simon and Garfunkle, Joy Division. You get the idea.

on the other hand I put colors to music but I really think thats just a big imagination and not Synasthesia. Isnt synasthesia where you actually do physically see the colors with the music, if your synasthesia is music / color related? correct me if Im wrong.

Someone said techno music. I'll tell you what goes hand in hand: dextromethorphan and techno music. Talk about music euphoria. Dextromethorphan and cannabis are the only two drugs that really make music "pop" with that special something, in my opinion. But every person is different!

I listen to pretty much everything, but I agree than certain genres are better for certain drugs.

For Ecstasy any electronic music is amazing. All music is good, but electronic music just makes it a truly incredible experience interacting with the music. Your whole body acts as an ear, absorbing the bass waves, letting them flow through your entire body. Plus you dance like you have never danced before.

For more narcotic type drugs, (i.e. opium, oxycodone, etc.), slower more down tempo music is good, though if the song flows well it should be good. Velvet Underground, Jefferson Airplane, Delphonics, etc. are all good stuff as well.

For DXM hard techno and psytrance are just amazing for some reason. I think the drug just lends itself to repetition (in general, not just in music). Trance isn't bad either, but DXM also lends itself to energy and intensity (given that too much isn't consumed) so the genres I mentioned at the beginning seem to be the most ideal.

down tempo electronica really goes well w/ e or methylone. some examples are Kruder and Dorfmiester, thievery corp, sphongle(the they are almost cliche among us heavy psychedelic folk). Up, Bustle and Out on the Ninjatune label. For crack I would have to go wth Rock Dust from peaches and the chem bros, also the "Back To Mine" from lamb. Hip hop for herb though I don't smoke anymore.

On SWIMS latest mushroom trip he found the combination of Mushrooms + Frank Zappa or John Denver to be quite hilarious.
