Bongs - Best tubing for bong making?

What would be the best material to use for tubing? Vinyl? What are hookah tubes made from? Thanks.

SWIM prefers rubber tubing, for the ease in cutting and shaping and the reliability of its seal.

But what about taste and safety? Rubber grommets can always be used, so fitting the tubing is no problem, SWIM just wants the safest material (he would buy some hookah hoses, but he needs real small tubing for his experiment)

Why would safety be an issue?

If you want your hose to hold a shape say a curve or an arch go with vinyl, if it's going to be like a hookah hose that your going to hit from go with rubber because its flexible and not as stiff....

^^ agreed. SWIM has made tons of bongs in his life and rubber tubing has never created a bad taste or any safety issues. As long as your smart about your design anything should do just fine.

my personal experience on the best tubing to buy is from a vacumn kit you get for fish tanks. you get few feet of hose for just a couple bucks. works perfect, good diameter etc.

9mm Schott glass. The kind of stuff better suited for weaponry than glassware.

SWIM will sometimes use tubing made for liquid-cooled computers (being quite the nerd himself) as it's thick and holds it shape well, but flexible enough to make into pretty much any shape.
