5-htp brands

There have been many posts about 5-HTP in the past and the general concensus is that they can be useful but it really depends on the brand you get.

So what brands of 5-HTP have you used and how good were they.

Swim has tried a brand called "now", they also have a logo at the bottom saying "GMP", and are 100mg. He has tried them after taking MDMA on numerous occasions and hasn't really noticed any benefits. If there were any, then they were very mild.

The only brand I've ever tried was Now also... I didn't really feel much of anything with the recommended dosage. I thought that maybe the dosage on the bottle is for "supplement" so I then took 2x the recommended dose, and then 3x to see what it did. I did notice a little bit of relaxation, but it was short lived.

I didn't notice any benefits with the regular dose, so like you said, if there were any they were mild. We really need to try another brand.

I have history of depression, and have been taking 5-HTP on a daily basis for about 9 months. I've had many bad side effects from taking prescription anti-depressants, and I consider 5-HTP to be an effective alternative.

I haven't had an episode of depression since I started in this suppliment, so it seems to be working. I'm much calmer when trouble arises, and I have a more consistent feeling of emotional well-being. It took about a month for the full effects of the suppliment to be noticed, and I can say I'm happy with the results.

I use a brand called EARTH LINKS NUTRITION and they're 100 mg capsules. I take 1 capsule 3 times a day, and at times, take it back to twice a day. I will also increase my dose when I encounter a very stressful time.

My friend, swim, who also takes 5-HTP every day for depression, says that she takes 200 mgs of 5-HTP at the end of a roll, just when she goes to bed (along with a selection of antioxidants and magnesium), to help with recovery. She continues the higher dose (200mgs, 2 times a day) of 5-HTP for 2 - 3 days following a night/weekend on E, before resuming her normal (lower) daily dose of 200 - 300 mgs/day.

My friend SWIM takes a brand called The Vitamin Shoppe..its a vitamin store here in the states..they have like 15 different kinds in there...they also have this stuff for sleep that contains..melatonin and 5-HTP the clerk was showing me..didnt try it though.
