Combinations - Ambien (Zolpidem) + Cannabis

If swim were to take 10 mg ambien and smoke some cannabis, would he hallucenate so bad he wouldnt be able to act sober in front of his parents?

Last time he took ambien, he didnt feel anything from 10mg, he drank 10mg grounded 2 hours later, and got a slight high. Swim really wants to see what everyone else dose in ambein, but ambien alone doesnt seem to do him much.

friend 10mg won't send you into a world of hallucinations, for that matter in swim's experiance ambien doesn't do that in general. swiy might be more afraid of being stoned infront of swiy's parents rather than the influence of 1 10mg ambien. It is hard to say though since all people react differently to all drugs.

10mg of Ambien also known as Zolpidem combined with Cannabis will not precipitate Hallucinations normally. Even with a higher dose Zolpidem is not known to really cause any major hallucinations. Some claim that combating it's effects as a hypnotic (ie trying to stay awake) can give some visuals but this is disputed. People around you will probably just think you look like you havnt slept in days and need to.

If SWIY is looking for visuals use a hallucinagen or a dissaccociative.
If SWIY is looking for euphoria dont use this drug.
If SWIY is looking to be calmed or sent to sleep this as well as other benzodiazepines would be effective.

On a side note, all drugs are dangerous whatever their use. Ensure you have done enough research before using an alternative.

Swim has used ambien before, and got very mild effects. Swim read on erowid 2 experieces where they both used cannabis and ambien and thought people were in the room and started talking to them. Read in the erowid ambien combinations experience vault.

SWIM has some experience with this combination. He does not think that 10mg of zolpidem will induce visual disturbances although everybody reacts differently. It does seem to have a synergistic effect with cannabis.

Even with a higher dose Zolpidem is not known to really cause any major hallucinations.

It definetely does cause visual disturbances although SWIM would not describe them as "major hallucinations". At doses of ~25-30mg mild patterning was experienced similar to a mild mushroom trip although this is where the comparison with psychedelics ends. Although SWIM has never experieced a true hallucination (something that isn't there), he has had very vivid aural hallucinations and can imagine this could lead to "talking to people who aren't there".

Be aware that this drug can make you act completely out of character and do extremely foolish things.In SWIMs opinion the effects of ambien are closer to a deleriant than a true psychedelic and are certainly nothing like benzodiazipines. I would not recommend this drug for recreational use.

Thats what i was trying to get over, Deliriants are not to be used in the same line as hallucenogens. Although they can give quite interesting experiences they arnt really recreational.

SWIFantasian's experiences with Deleriants have been most interesting but not recreational and he would class the effects and visuals seen here as delusions not hallucinations.

So swim was browsing in the forums and noticed someone asking about cannabis and zolpidem taken together. Having access to both SWIM decided to try it. First time was a test and went well but the amnesia made the memories foggy so SWIM decided to take notes while doing it again. Heres the result, translated as best SWIM could.

10mg Zolpidem parachute + 1 bowl cannabis

SWIM decided to watch Star Wars Ep. 3 because of the trippy lighting and special effects. Notes SWIM took are as follows:

-all lights have a hazy plasma-like ambience, similar to what they would look like on magic shrooms
-double vision associated with zolpidem is gone
-not many visual hallucinations apart from whats mentioned above
-audio hallucinations increase dramatically
-feeling heartbeat loud in head
-eyes bounce around slightly, uncontrollably
-time goes by very fast, unlike time slowing affect from THC
-no munchies
-peppermint gum tastes freakin amazing, gel ice in my mouth

+10mg Zolpidem parachuted, +1 bowl cannabis

-cannot understand english, dialouge in movie sounds like an alien/forgein language
-body feels extremely heavy, hard to move

After that SWIM got in the bed and pretty much woke up later feeling extremely rested, had the hangover feeling from the zolpidem feeling though. All in all SWIM thought it was a blast and would recommend trying this if you happen to have both at the same time.
