"Flipping Over" on MDMA

SWIM has heard a story about someone who bought a couple E pills and did them at school. Apparently they weren't very good pills, and they started freaking out; had to be constrained and escorted to the hospital. Probably isn't true, just a suburban legend . But SWIM has heard about people "flipping over" on ecstasy before. His best definition of what it would be is when someone does too much E and the intense euphoria and rush completely overwhelms and "blankets" the user. When this occurs, the person "flips over"; that is, they start freaking out because they feel like they don't have control over their mind, body, etc. and just lose it, so to speak. SWIM has done a variety of ecstasy pills, including pure MDMA capsules. Although he has never had a bad experience, he can see the potential of the euphoria from a large dose of pure MDMA becoming overwhelming and "engulfing" the user, causing a negative experience. Has anybody else ever heard of this before?

doesnt seem that impossible to swim, swim remembers that at his HS a kid took E in school, it seems possible that if the pill contained lsd or something other than mdma, maybe pcp, that one could freak out, especially if u took 2 or 3 of these pills at a time.

SWIM doesnt think it would necessarily be the euphoria that made someone flip out. Some people might get scared by the increased heart rate or the delerium that comes with a larger dose. Adulterants also probably play a role in freak outs. SWIM has rolled MANY times and has been around MANY people rolling and none of them ever experienced anything resembling a flip out.
