Mushroom Hunting in Michigan
So SWIM and his buds find a bit of mushrooms that look very similar to some of the ones found in the state. SWIM isn't 100% sure that they are psilocybe-containing ones but is pretty sure by the pictures. SWIM was wondering if he should just try a teenie little bit after they are dry to make sure no bad effects come from them or should he give up together because right now there is no supply around his area and SWIM"s grow kit hasn't started yet. Thanks for any help.

Never eat any mushroom that you aren't 100% sure on the ID... the only
safe way to make sure that a mushroom isn't poisonous is to correctly identify the species... What was the mushroom's habitat (growing on ground, poo, wood, etc)? Does it bruise? Gills - are they attatched/non, color, spacing, etc...? Color of spore print? Cap - size, shape (concave/convex, etc), color, texture (i.e. sticky/non)? Stem - size, hollow or not, color, flexibility, etc? Particular odor? These species grow in Michigan: Psilocybe caerulipes Psilocybe liniformans var. americana Psilocybe silvatica . Panaeolus subbalteatus Conocybe smithii Watling. Gymnopilus aeruginosus Gymnopilus luteofolius Gymnopilus luteus Gymnopilus validipes Psilocybe cubensis (the most common mushrooms found on the streets) do not grow wild in Michigan. Pan subbs are in season this time of year, and are relatively easy to identify. Just make sure not to confuse them with panaeolus foenisecii which, contrary to some, are not active. |

The ones I have look very similar if not exactly like one of the ones on the Michigan list. My computer doesnt let me on to google images so I can't show you exactly which ones they look like. They look like the light-tan ones with a dip on the top. They smell like your average mushroom, grew on the grass out in a field, and as far as i know they dont bruise.
