i smoked it off of foil and from glass pipes petty regularly for about 2 years and my back couple of teeth on the top and bottom are real weak... sometimes lil pieces will chip off my back teeth when im eating... i accredit it to the meth.. i did have a lisp when i spoke my 's', and it has alleviated that so i guess it wasnt 100% all that bad D

If you do meth for sixth months, how long does it take for the effects to go away . . for example hallucinations.

I do not know for sure, but I heard that it would take about the same duration as the use. On the other hand; i heard this from a poly user, so it may not be accurate.

I have never heard of the effect on teeth, and can think of no metabolic process that would have such an effect. The old Consumre Union Report on drug abuse (from the 70's ) had no mention of it, and was authoritative for its time. Realize that teeth are weak sometimes, for other reasons.

Any authority for the weak teeth claim?

I just checked at drugsinfo.nl, dutch government, harm reduction. Teeth get weaker from amphetamine use, because of teeth clensingand becauseit causes nutritional deprivation which leads to weak nails and teeth.

yeah it does have nutritional deprivation, but also many meth users grind their teeth and the taste drys your mouth out so i always drink a lot of water when i tweak and make sure to eat properly

Speed will cause your teeth to recieve less nutrients. Alot of it has to do with the fact that when your speeding you tend to eat very little. Speed basicly harms all of your body though. All stimulents have bad effects on the body, even caffiene.

From my observations, Meth does destroy teeth.....I only did it for a year or so (can't remember exactly)..and my teeth are ok.....but I have friends who had nice teeth....but they (teeth) seemed to have died in their mouths.....It took a while to get ride of some of the side effects....but I don't believe I did any perm. damage to myself. I feel lucky.

i think the bigger problem meth (and E and regular amphetamine...actually ALL amphetamines) causes with teeth is the grinding. If you're a regular/semi-regular user you can get the enamel ground off your teeth like that and that leads to nasty cavity problems. I participate in the occasional 2 day amphetamine sulphate binge and i think i might have developed a nervous tic of grinding my teeth since i do it rather often when not on drugs.

of course the nutrient deprivation is also a big factor.

There is no doubt of the ill-effects on one's health due to meth abuse,
but for me personally, after years of daily use by every means of
ingestion known to man, my teeth are in excellent condition. I
owe this to semi-annual trips to the dentist, proper care in
between visits, and goo genes.

From what I understand (never done meth personally) tooth damage occurs
because your stomach shuts down and therefore does not absorb
calcium. Lack of calcium leads to weak bones and teeth.

ughhh....reminds me of the movie Spun...that was the first time i saw exactly how BAD the effects of meth can be on teeth.

i have been using for about 4 months so of course i haven't had many
problems. but the things i have noticed are my nails looking unhealthy,
and my skin begins to look pretty bad. but putting a vitamin enriched
lotion on my face helps almost immediately with that and i guess i have
just been covering up my nails with nail polish not much of a solution...

as for teeth... i've noticed mine losing their brightness, but i will
take the blame for that b/c when i tweaked, i would forget to brush. plus, i have been drinking a lot of diet coke which can stain teeth. i haven't noticed myself clenching, but maybe i do?

now i have a reminder on my desk and in my bathroom...just a picture i
drew to remind me to brush a million times a day. itd be weird to jus
have a reminder saying "brush your teeth" people might think i was
crazy so i drew a picture no1 would understand instead

i never had a problem remembering simple hygene b4, but i just get so
focused on other things. i have to remind myself to drink plenty of
water too. i've had many instances where i've lost my voice cuz i don't
drink anything.
