My friend (who is an accomplished artist) and I plotted to make our own religious style tracts that had people learning about the dangers of banality and the importance of intense states and radical creativity. We plotted to make the PDFs freely available and to encourage people to randomly place them like the religious memebots do. Open a DVD find the truth about sweat lodges… read a book in the library find the truth about LSD… Go to the store and find a little pamphlet under your auto’s wiper blade that explains why BASE jumping will save your soul… etc.
Maybe even some brave souls would have actually dipped the last page… or left a spore print etc.
We also dreamed of randomly spray painting fake chalk outlines like the ones on the TV crime dramas… except make them look like chalk outlines of cows or snowmen or other odd things. “Honey, I say it looks like some poor cherub got run over on this highway.”
Odd kids… we know…
