Drug info - 4 hour Onset for LSD??

SWIM recieved a vial of LSD. He was told every 2 drops equals the amount of one hit. He dropped 2 drops on a sugar cube and later consumed it around 4pm. At 8pm is when he started to feel giggly and euphoric. No major visuals were achieved from this single hit, but like any other trip, colors were extremely vivid through t.v's , lights, etc. The trip came to an end around 2-3am. When SWIM woke up he felt like he couldnt move at all.

Could someone please give me their insight on why it would take 4 hours for SWIM's trip to kick in?

By the way, the onset time was the same for the 4 other people that SWIM was tripping with, so it wasn't just him.
