Viagra and Adderall???

Used the search engine to no help, any dangers of mixing the two? Just curious, since one raises blood pressure and the other lowers it.

I thought they both would raise blood pressure? Still, doubt it would be very wise to mix viagra with any stimulant. Could be pushin for a heart attack if too much is taken.

The main problem there is not heart attack ; it's that it will drain SWIY's precious brain hormones 100 times faster in one sexual encounter ! Think about it ; just Adderal and sexual arrousal triggers fight or flight symptom in release of adrenaline, thus all important brain hormones get drained off and burned in the erection, but imagine if you throw a PDE-5 in there !!! The constant erection will have so much hormonal pull that it could result in blindness; severe back pain and even death in orgasm by hormonal lockup. Just the erectile medicine alone can do that to older people ! SWIM says these are shit don't take it... SWIM says to try some bee pollen(a lot), Horny goat weed, Yohimbe/Tongat Ali instead, the latter in small dosage !

Give us some backup on your 'information' mate - sources, references, links, proof, goddammit, proof of your sometimes seemingly outlandish, sometimes plausible claims! And I hope I'm not speaking out of line here (sincere apologies if I am!), but your obsession with sexual energy puts me in mind of someone who needs to get laid (not too out of place here, granted, as we're talking about Viagra!) Either that or you've watched Dr Strangelove one time too many...

SWIM would actually advise against the yohimbine. the so-called "natural viagra" tends to leave males unable to ejaculate at all, and in studies SWIM read oh so long ago, acted as a better female aphrodisiac than a male one. while the study below talks about its possible uses, SWIM would like to caution that it does raise blood pressure by a high amount, to the point where orthostatic hypotension (blacking out when you stand up) can occur. doesnt sound like the greatest thing to have happen after sex...and god forbid someone mixes this with adderall. sounds like a trip to the ER waiting to happen. additionally, an associate of SWIM's once performed a study where yohimbine was administered to healthy subjects, and the main result was, indeed, a raising of blood pressure. no desire to have sex, no erections, nothing but high blood pressure and a stress response in the body. many did, however, reported it being extremely dysphoric. "herbal" doesnt necessarily mean safe, kids...this drug also has a nasty potential for interactions with other drugs (such as dxm as mentioned in the dxm faq). also, to stay on topic, viagra and adderall sounds like another trip to the ER waiting to happen, since swim is guessing this, too, would raise blood pressure by a scary amount.

ABSTRACT

It has been postulated that alpha 2-adrenergic receptors play a modulatory role in the regulation of blood pressure. Activation of alpha 2-receptors located in the central nervous system results in inhibition of sympathetic tone and decrease of blood pressure. This indeed may be the mechanism of action of central sympatholytic antihypertensives such as alpha-methyldopa. Presynaptic alpha 2-receptors also are found in adrenergic nerve terminals. These receptors act as a negative feedback mechanism by inhibiting the release of norepinephrine. The relevance of alpha 2-adrenergic receptors for blood pressure regulation can be explored with yohimbine, a selective antagonist of these receptors. Yohimbine increases blood pressure in resting normal volunteers. This effect is associated with an increase in both sympathetic nerve activity, reflecting an increase in central sympathetic outflow, and in norepinephrine spillover, reflecting potentiation of the release of norepinephrine from adrenergic nerve terminals. These actions, therefore, underscore the importance of alpha 2-adrenergic receptors for blood pressure regulation even under resting conditions. Patients with autonomic failure, even those with severe sympathetic deprivation, are hypersensitive to the pressor effects of yohimbine. This increased responsiveness can be explained by sensitization of adrenergic receptors, analogous to denervation supersensitivity, and by the lack of autonomic reflexes that would normally buffer any increase in blood pressure. Preliminary studies suggest that the effectiveness of yohimbine in autonomic failure can be enhanced with monoamine oxidase inhibitors. Used in combination, yohimbine increases norepinephrine release, whereas monoamine oxidase inhibitors inhibit its degradation. Therefore, yohimbine is not only a useful tool in the study of blood pressure regulation, but may offer a therapeutic option in autonomic dysfunction.

Thats good humor Micklemouse ; and yes I do need to get laid, but one woman only is allowed to do this. It's just that I come on here and read all these threads speaking about sex and drugs and how it's great ; I am that I am and am not making a compromise in my communication. I have studied endocrynology and biology extensively and I well know that overdoses of anything will definately lead to disease sooner (if you are lucky to feel it coming) or later... people have to realise that chemicals like Sidenafil or MDMA have only been around for so long, and that the disease is likely to manifest in a 10-30 year timeframe. Some people don't care ; well then I hope the communication reaches the producers of such substances ; at least knowledge helps them make it pure and unalduterated. If you like to know more you have to ask the good questions, I choose not to do telepathy or that kind of stuff.

Most of what people call a trip is an extreme overdose ; thus I might sensibilise or enhance other people's toughts about the difference of communion and consumption is one purpose, other functions are also served by my presence. Again I have only been around for so long...

Of course Yohimbine is a very strong alkaloid and care is required in approaching it's medicinal effect. At low dosage it's an extremely good tonifier and it's been used in chinese medicine for thousands of years ! SWIM prefers Quebracho as a substitution where Yohim is now illegalised, it's somewhat softer on the liver. Never should someone take more that 500 mg Yohimbine bark ; thats where SWIM starts to alter his norepinephrine levels. SWIM uses it on the first 5 days after his weekly ejaculation around 100 mg and it keeps him in top shape ! A good thing is to adjust nutrition to the body's daily need in accordance with the hormonal cycles.

I'm happy that people enjoy the communications ; one day after writing too much "sense" on a religion board SWIM quit and told sure of himself : "I will never write on a forum again" Since his posts made everyone worried about not being perfect in posting ethics or something ; basically everyone on the board went on spiritual vacation ! and secondly, hormonal cycles, aside from cortisol, remain more or less unaffected by yohimbine. whether or not its a strong alkaloid (?) its still a bad idea, and not likely to acheive the effects that they tout on the package. viagra may be synthetic...but its probably a better bet for sex, just dont mix it with adderall.

Although sex and yohimbe is another subject, I'd like to add that Yohimbe does affect testosteron level's, which is why it is used in body building. Yohimbine is not the same as Yohimbe, although it is the major active principle. Yohimbe does cause arrousal in both female and male and erection in healthy males. However, as Ahuaeynjx points out one should never go above a low dose. I wouldn't say 500 mg's as some people can be quite sensitive to Yohimbe. One should also be aware that yohimbe is a powerful MAO-I and strict rules about which foods and drugs not to take should be followed. If either the dose is just a tad to high or if the MAO-I diet rules are crossed, the user will not be enjoying him/her self at all and sex will be the last thing the user wants to think about.
The article has no relavance and is jumping to conclusions IMHO(as far as I can see from the abstract).
