Drugs agency on track to become 'Scotland's FBI'

Hmmmm....this from the Scotsman (http://news.scotsman.com/scotland.cfm?id=843732006) :
Drugs agency on track to become 'Scotland's FBI'

LOUISE GRAY
THE agency set up to tackle organised drugs crime in Scotland has improved significantly and is "well prepared" for becoming Scotland's FBI, watchdogs will say today.
The Scottish Drugs Enforcement Agency (SDEA) was formed in 2000 to prevent and detect serious and organised crime.
However, after a review inspection by Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC) in 2003, some 21 recommendations were made, covering subjects from leadership, policy and strategy to partnerships and resources, people management and processes.
A number of changes have been introduced and eight of the recommendations on responding to organised crime, gender balance and drugs in the community have been addressed.
But Malcolm Dickson, the assistant inspector of constabulary, said it is on course for taking on organised crime to become the Scottish Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency in 2007. He said: "The agency is a valued part of policing in Scotland and beyond. They are well prepared to continue and improve upon that in their move to a revised status following changes from the Police, Public Order and Criminal Justice (Scotland) Bill."
The one major problem for the agency has been its inability to recruit more women.
