How long is methadone in your system

I am curious as to exactly how long methadone is in your system for. Swim is on probation and using methadone and swim knows that they usually dont test for methadone in probation but wants to be safe anyway. So if anyone knows how long its in swims system and if probations usually test for it then it would be very helpful. Thanx guys and gals

swim's going to wager a guess that it would stay in for a week or two weeks, since its half life is longer than other opiates, and shorter acting ones are usually gone within a few days. but if anyone knows the actual timeframe, swim would like to know.

thanx for the info but i believe that on erowid it says 1-7 days and on another thread it claimed 3-5 days. i was hoping for someone with some personal experience who has been drug tested and taken methadone. Any info is always appreciated though. Thanx

It is technically 3-5 days, but with extended use and slower metabolism, as methadone tends to cause, it can even a week to 10 days depending on other medications, length of use, size of dose, etc..

Methadone can be detected in the blood/urine up to 7 days after dosing however the effects that prevent withdrawal etc tend to only really have any effect for the period 3 - 5 days.

In the UK methadone is drugs tested for along with other opiates, however the test is not exclusive it will show that a synthetic opioid is present. False posatives could include but are not limited to: Tramadol, Buprenorphine among others.

Hey bounz2dabeatz Ill tell ya swim had a d-test for his work place.Swim used the quick clean tabs to clean out his system..Now swim had also used pot,dog-food(h) bezos and others.Now swim used the quick tabs as decribed and whamo//// swim was walked to the front gate for testing pos for methadone////

How long between last use and the drugs test?

The test was on a monday and swim last used methadone on the friday before,swim had many other drugs in system but only tested + for the doans,,hope this helps swiy and goo luck/////

Thanx for the info guys. Does anyone know if probation usually tests for methadone. I know that the employee tests tend to be the 10 panel extended tests and probation is usually 7 panel(which usually doesnt test for methadone) or the normal 5. Im sorry to hear about the failed test, shits so unfair.

I think alot depends on the previous offence, if it was serious the tests are likely to be more invasive and be a higher panel.

Also if SWIY was originally taken in for any sort of opiate abuse it's likely EVERY sort of opiate will be tested for.

Could you specify the country your talking about as i think test vary significantly with laws in differant countries.

if swiy is perscribed it there should be no resion to worry about testing but if not it takes 3-5 days bepending on your metabolic rate, and if swiy has been on it a long time give it longer 7 days. if you are tested it would just show up as opiate not spersificaly methadone if it's a piss test but a swab will be more spersific. also tell swiy to be carefull with withdrawel if they intend to be clean as it can be risky especialy if on a large dose. if a possitive test came back swiy's po should offer help for problem not get you into troubel it's there job to help people stay out of prision not send them back.

Sorry guys as swim has been on vacation,what Swiim also said that he was using dolophine(methadone) for about 2 weeks along with dog-food and many others.The big test was on a monday and swim last used 3 days before.Now swim was using about 40 + mg a day of the doans for a short while.Swim did some reasearch and the company that gave swim the test had said that the FIRST THING THEY LOOK FOR IS METHADONE,then opiates,cause according to them ,methadone will NOT show up as an opiate since it is a chemical man mad.Swim says hope this will futher help yall????????
