XTC and hair/nailgrowth

Some time ago swim woke up at a friends house after another wild night and he got invited to a family gathering of mentioned friend.
Of course swim wasnt prepared for a more civilised happening so he quickly checked his appearance before taking a shower, to his suprise his fingernails looked alot longer then he remembered them being the day before.
His m8's GF told him this is normal when using amphetamine type drugs (speed, XTC, coke).
Swims wondering if this is just another myth or do these drugs really speed up your nail/hairgrowth?

Could it be the skin pulling back because it dries out, maybe?
Longshot, I know, but it's the most logical explanation I can think of right now.

Maybe because it speeds up so may of the body's functions this is sped up as well?

Maybe SWIM's a slob like Bongo, and he/she doesn't really notice the nails or hair until they get in the way - or must attend some social ritual where such might be noticed. But if MDMA works as a hair-tonic, we've got a whole new game in town.

SWIMs a slob and wouldnt have doubted 1 second to blame it on that but then his m8's GF came with her explanation and seeing how girls seem to know alot about nails and hair he wondered if maybe there was some truth to it.
