Most used opiate?

Name your most used opiate.

Note: Not nesseserily your favourite.

Sorry if ive missed some and sorry for grouping some together but the poll only allows 10 choices.

For me, it has to be morphine, it is the angel on my right shoulder and the devil on my left.

SWIM went with codeine. It's very easy to obtain even without prescription.

The only method SWIM knows to obtain codeine is to buy Paracodina, that is a syrop that contains Diidrocodein.

But it just doesnt works to SWIM. Even if he drink two bottles, he reach no effect at all.

methadone as swim is perscribed this every day. it dont beat the real thing though.

To just add to NBL's post, dont just go and swallow a whole lot of those tablets as NBL pointed out Codeine isnt the only ingrediant. Look at extractions...

BTW, How many tablets SWIM should eat to reach a decent buzz?

And as I said, SWIM tried using the dihydrocodein but he could get any buzz at all. Is this one different?

The paracetamol is extremely dangerous at higher dosages. Search CWE, dont just eat the tablets. but around 50-60 mg of codeine for starters should do it...also search for threads on codeine dosages. Dihydrocodeine should be active at around twice the strength of regular codeine, perhaps swis has a high natural tolerance, or the doses were low.

"Cold Water extraction" might be something you also want to look at.

SWIFantasian is currently legally prescribed with Fentanyl in the form of a patch, it just isnt his most used opiate.

swim remembers the patches...those things are excellent for pain relief but has actually met several chronic pain patients who informed him that other drugs work better for them and arent as sedating.

Very true and as SWIM's Pain has a fast onset and is very acute the patches dont tend to cut it, IV morphine is the most used as he has voted.

Yes, this makes sense. Great poll, swim is curious to see what the results will be like as more people respond. SWIM is going to guess either codeine or oxy/hydrocodeine will win out, these seem to be the most available opiates in swim's experience, and doctors (who usually dont know about a wide variety of drugs) will be more likely to prescribe these three than others.

As previously mentioned several times Stavrogin the process you are looking for is CWE - Cold water Extraction.

This is the seperation of the codeine and paracetamol so one would be able to ingest codeine alone. It is seen as one of the simpler proceedures that bring a much safer outcome than if not done.

On a side not i think that maybe what you think was Dihydrocodeine wasnt atually it, it's unlikely for you to experience no effect at all especially on a high dosage! Even if you were alergic or tolerant you would feel something.

SWIM thinks that perhaps this last statement is a possibility, maybe the dihydrocodeine wasnt dihydrocodeine. however, some opiates seem to not work on swim, maybe swis is in a similar situation. swim doesnt know how it operates, but its another possibility.

Swim voted for methadone, since he was consistently dosed on that for over three years.. His addiction before that could have been any opiate he could get ahold of, be it oxy's, heroin, dilaudid, demerol, or various pills, even fentanyl.. So for consistency, methadone..

SWIM bought NUROFEN but it only contains IBUPROFEN (200 mg x pill )

You will find upon looking at the picture more closely the product displayed is
NEROFEN PLUS - Duel action. (the duel action being iboprofen and codeine)

NUROFEN alone contains no codeine.

In future it might be worth checking the package or mentioning to the pharmacist you found that products with codeine in them helped you in the past. (assuming you have a genuine condition of course i wouldnt condone any lying or illegal action)

In the Uk there are many co-codamol products, SWIY should ask his pharmacist for a product containing paracetamol and codeine by saying the duel action tends to really help with pain. Back pain for example.

There are pleanty of other threads on this please seek another as this thread is becoming more and more off topic
