1 night binges?

Ok well first of all let me say that SWIM is not a frequent amphetamine user,
and he doesn't really use it recreationally at all.

But recently, SWIM has been using it to get work done when he has a deadline at work. SWIM takes around 20-30mg at around 9pm. He then starts to work, and usually at around 12 - 1am, he takes another 20-30mg. He continues to work, and sometimes he'll take his final dose at around 4am. He then continues his work if hes not finished already, and sometimes works well into the morning. Then usually at around 9am, when he finishes, he takes a warm relaxing bath, eats a small but healthy breakfast, takes a multivitamin, and heads off to work. Now at this point SWIM is starting to feel like total shit. SWIM feels like he needs to throw up, and this feeling lasts ALL DAY. He feels like hes too worn out and beat up to move, so he doesn't. He feels sore, drained, and generally f**ked up. One time, this feeling of nausea got so bad that he did throw up, multiple times.

SWIM has a pretty healthy diet, and he takes a multivitamin everyday. He exercises regularly, and is in good physical/mental health.

SWIM wants to know, is this normal?
He knows that naturally one should feel pretty drained after missing one nights sleep, but is it normal to feel this bad? He can hardly talk, let alone move, because he feels so nauseous.

Thanks in advance,
-RGM

e.t doesnt think its because missing a day sleep as e.t missed more then one time 5 to 7 days sleep. it could be the amphetamine i guess.

seems to e.t you had a overdose, with amphetamine its easy to go too far and do to much.

Well the thing is its happened a couple times. 3 or 4, over the last month or two. Everytime SWIM does it (pull the all nighter with amph), he feels the same. He doesn't think its overdosing, but he does agree that it is probably the amphetamine, not the lack of sleep.

Any more input?

When you stop taking the drug and the level of it in your blood drops, you may have withdrawal symptoms such as:
1. sweating or rapid pulse
2. increased shakiness
3. trouble sleeping
4. nausea or vomiting
5. hallucinations (seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there)
6. jumpiness
7. anxiety
8. seizures (convulsions)
9. increased craving for amphetamines.

Sounds like the dreaded comedown from use of speed. Your body been in overdrive for a while, sleep and food always help. Plus how many hours a day are you working?

So If SWIM took only enough amphetamines to stay awake, just the bare minimum, do you think this whole 'feeling-like-shit' feeling the next day could be avoided? Is there any other way it could be avoided?

Yes, those sound about right, except for #6 - Jumpiness.

the problem isnt the amount ur taking, but ur body is starting to need it, so e.t's advice would be to use it less often.

That the thing though, SWIM doesn't use it that often.
Maybe one - two nights a month, at most.
SWIM doesn't use it recreationally at all.

I cant advise much on Amphetamine use as SWIM has never used that. However SWIM has experienced violent withdrawals to a number of substances. SWIM believes the worst part of a withdrawal, hangover etc is the nausea accociated with it. This can be easily solved if SWIM can get an anti-emetic.

SWIM uses the following
Cyclizine (however this can have hallucingenic effects soemtimes)
Buccastem
Ondansetron

They are in reverse order of effectivness.

Antiemetic Medicines: OTC Relief for Nausea and Vomiting

What types of OTC drugs treat nausea and vomiting?

Over-the-counter (OTC) drugs are medicines you can buy without a doctor’s prescription. Antiemetic drugs are medicines that can help relieve nausea and vomiting. Several OTC drugs are used as antiemetics.
  • Bismuth subsalicylate (brand names: Kaopectate, Pepto-Bismol) may help treat some types of nausea and vomiting, such as from the flu (influenza). It’s also used for upset stomach and as an antidiarrheal (medicine to treat diarrhea).
  • Certain antihistamines may help prevent nausea and vomiting caused by motion sickness. These include dimenhydrinate (one brand name: Dramamine Original) and meclizine hydrochloride (one brand name: Dramamine Less Drowsy).

Not sure about this it depends on your country.

In the UK, Buccastem is available sublingually (under the tongue) over the counter at most pharmacy's.

Ondansetron is relativly hard to come by even through prescription

Cyclizine is commonly used with Opiates to releieve nausea, SWIY knows someone who is prescribed opiates they're most likely also prescribed this. This is the case in the Uk anyway.

Hope it helped

Alright this is really weird...

SWIM schedule this morning (after another one of these 'binges') was:
Puke - Eat - Puke - Drink - Puke - Eat - Puke - Drink - Puke.

He decided to stop eating and drinking, although it didn't help.
He just started vomitting up his stomach

Luckily, this was the last of SWIM's 'work deadlines',
and he doesn't have to stay up working all night anymore.

However, he would still like to know why he is reacting like this?
Again, he only took about 30mg of Adderall over the course of the night.
As soon as it wore off, he felt like shit and started puking.

Peace,
-RGM

[Edit] This is terrible.
The only time SWIM doesn't feel like puking his brains out is the 5 minutes of heaven after SWIM pukes my brains out

Maybe SWIR should have a word with his boss and ask him to reduce his workload a little, im sure they won't want you to be staying up all night having no sleep at all, especially if when you go to work it the morning you look wrecked and can hardly move.

Speak to SWIY's doc about it without mentioning the adderall to begin with, it's possible it might be something else and even if it isnt then he might prescribe an anti-emetic.
