trichocereus pachanoi cristate
can any one tell me more about this its only mention is on another post i wrote about other cacti i belive it must have mesculin init as it swim found it on a site selling peyote and san ped and it gave warnings about customes ect in countries it could not be imported to but no other info can be found it looks odd to not like any other cacti i have seen. thanks for any help adz.

I answered in the other thread, but basically, it's just a unique form (mutation) that happens to some cacti.. It is probably active, but will not produce as much plant material as a normal pachanoi... However, they are very cool to grow, and would be a beautiful addition to any cacti collection..

It's not dangerous, just a unique characteristic to some cacti, and to find what alkaloids are in it, one would have to extract them and get them analyzed... It would have the same alkaloids as any cactus of that species, although ratios may a be a bit different.. It is not a different species, just a unique form of the regular species..
