Experiences - An Interesting (but Scary) Experience

SWIM has never really shared many trip reports here before, but this
was a very interesting/scary experience that happened a long time ago
that hopefully you'll find interesting whether you want to hear about
what could potentially happen during a bad trip, or if you are just
interested in hearing a story of SWIM's. Because memory fades over time,
there are pieces that are blurry or missing, so SWIM really hopes that
this makes sense...

Well, first I guess I should give a little information about SWIM. SWIM
is an experienced tripper with countless experiences with both
mushrooms and acid (among others) under the belt. Mushroom experiences
ranged in dosage from very small amounts up to 15g dry.

Anyway, I am rambling now, so I'll let SWIM tell the story...

Dose: 5g dry, P. cubensis + cannabis

"So, it was finally my day off and I'd been planning this trip for awhile.
(Most recent trip before was a few months previous). Now, this trip took
place at home, and I was alone at the time (which although I like to have
company while tripping has never been a problem in the past). When I trip,
I prefer it to be a little on the stronger side, and this time I decided
on 5 dry grams, which in previous occasions was a good dose for me. Anyway,
I didn't feel like messing with a grinder or blender or whatever, so I just
ate them whole with whatever kind of fruit juice was in the fridge. Then
smoked a bowl, watched TV, and waited for the effects to kick in...

"Shrooms almost always hit me fairly fast, and I was feeling effects
within 20 min or so. I was watching the ceiling start to pattern up like
I always do. Now one of my favorite things to do while tripping is listen
to music, so I went and got my MP3 player and headphones and chilled out
for awhile, probably an hour or so. So far it just seemed like another
typical trip, but then things got weird...

"I won't drag this part on, but first a little relavent information - my
roommate and some of his friends are the UFO/gov't conspiracy/end of the
world-type people. They never shut up about it and are convinced about all
this stuff that's frankly really weird. I know that this is the root of
some of the stuff that happened next, anyway...

"Things got kind of blurry here and I guess I should've wrote about this
sooner after the trip happened, but I'll try to piece together what I
remember. I went into my room for some reason, and as I was thinking
about whatever all of a sudden my thoughts just changed. It's hard to
explain, but it was the weirdest feeling ever. Now, I'd never had an
entity contact-type trip before, but changed that then. Some seemingly
independent voice started telling me all this shit. I'm probably
leaving out a lot, and will probably make no sense, and I'm also not
saying that I believe any/all of this either, but anyway...

-Aliens exist and are coming whether the gov't wants to admit it
or not, it will be very bad, everyone will die, etc.
-Mushrooms (and other psychedelics) are illegal because of how
they allow you to think. The gov't does not want all these free
thinkers, they know a lot more than they let on, and the weird
part was I found myself saying out loud that (under the influence
of whatever), "they found something".
-All these people are trying to find the meaning of life and shit.
What the hell. Life is a part of reality, and what is reality
anyways. Also remember hearing some stuff about the concept of
time but don't remember enough to say much more about it.
-Something about parallel universes, and that in those we are
living, dying, or dead. We are constantly dying and have already
died countless numbers of deaths. I remember seeing "my own
death"... getting stabbed in the back. That was disturbing to
say the least.
-Also something about when you die, your soul still lives. But
your soul can also die, and then who knows what happens.

"I hope I don't sound like a fucking psycho. Anyway, I was a little
freaked out at that point and tried all the telling yourself it's not
real and all those little tricks. But then that damn voice in my head
told me this - what you experience under the influence of these drugs
isn't always that far from the truth. You can have some scary thoughts
about whatever (like above) and when you start coming down you'll just
think it was all fake, like everyone tells you. But that's where the
deception is because that way you don't take stuff like that too
seriously. But in this day and age there really is a lot to be afraid
of. Guess that kind of goes along with the legality thought above.
But anyway, that thought right there was what did it for me...

"I never had a bad trip up until that point. After hearing all that
shit, my brain overloaded and I completely panicked. I don't think I
had ever experienced fear that intense and that real ever in my life.
I guess between the fear and the drugs it made me sick, because I had
to throw up, which was the first time that'd ever happened on shrooms.
Once the panic was over, all I could do was go in bed and hide under the
blankets and just be miserable in general. For what felt like what was
a few hours (but was probably just a few minutes), I wished I could just
die.

"After probably 1/2 hour, I felt a little better and went out and sat
on the couch and watched Animal Planet, which really mellowed me out a
lot. I also decided to write down some of these thoughts I had while they
were fresh in my mind, so I could remember. But stupidly and ironically,
the piece of paper was accidently put through the laundry the next day...

"I don't really have anything else to say about this trip really. Although
parts were terrifying, it did not scare me away from psychedelics or
anything like that. What it did do was help me realize that our time here
really is short, don't take it for granted, and make the most of it every
day".

LOL, I'm not laughing at you. I can relate.

One of the ideas I had in that particular mindset was that the reason abortion was so controversial is that one the one side Christains oppose it because they don't want Jesus to be aborted. And the powers that be do.

In fact, whenever I'm hit by those paranoid thoughts that seem to be coming from another mind, I write them down because they make great songs and plots for short stories.

The last time I did booms (I can't remember exactly but it was about 13 or so years ago, the following was dictated to me):

Through ages and pages of history disernable patterns can be seen
On the mounted piles of murdered free we stake our creeds
It's just the foolish nature of the human heart.

We stumble on through space-time, dominion over everything in line
Progress poisons land, air and sea domesticated sense of purity (I actually couldn't tell if I was being told domesticated sense of diety or purity so chose purity)
It's just our foolish nature that sets us apart.

Conditioned to live with almost anything degeneration inevitable scheme
Elected leaders cons and liars reflect our deepest personal desires
It's just this fool we hide inside that tears us apart.

When the band recorded it we called it Natural Fool, ov coarse.

Fascinating stuff, and imo perfectly solid reasoning and not at all psycho-like!

I'm not at all a conspiracy theorist (although we all have our days...) but there - to me - is an undeniable reason why safer psychedelics are (for the most part) globally illegal - what they show us or allow us to see clearly (!) is simply not supportive of the society we have built for ourselves, and if enough people realise this it could be very destructive to the whole system of 'control'.

Mind-altering substances form the backbone of virtually all 'primitive' cultures, cultures who live much closer to nature - although 'we' are busy trying to bring progress to such unenlightened folk at an alarimng rate of course. For the First World, industrialized, cumbersome and vastly over-populated in terms of how many there are of us in ratio to what we consume, cannot possibly exist in any way close to this style. Fuck the War on Drugs - we have declared War with Nature.

It could be mentioned here that there are still natural hallucinogens legally and easily available to the curious. Strangely enough many of these are extremely dangerous and carry a very real possibility of death. Hmmm...

The follow on from this, the more philosophical and mystical experiences, are simply the results of these first paths of thought being opened. A natural progression.

A very sainted experience imo - you lucky thing, you.

SWIm agrees that many of those thoughts were not ludacris. Why else would they bann all these substances w/o proof of any damage that they do. Sounds like the trip wasnt so bad. They part where you thought you were stabbed in the back is kinda creepy though. very good report, maybe you can do another. 15g trip report might be pretty interesting.

SWIK Once did 15g of an unknown strain of mushrooms. All SWIM rememebers from that trip is dosing, staring into a mirror, and then waking up two days later.

Two days later? That seems quite odd considering shrooms dont normally last more than 6 hours. What happened in those two days?
