Question Pemoline: not very sympathomimetic

There are posts reguarding pemoline, I know. It was taken off the market last year, I believe, without me ever getting to sample it firsthand. It apparently acts through dopaminergic pathways but does not have as much sympathomimetic activity as the amphetamines. What does this translate to, in terms of 'feel drug' ratings?

Allex should urgently read the rules.

Well, pemoline, or Cylert its old trade name, puts less pressure on your cardiovascular system, less bronchiole dilation and less constriction of blood vessels, while still producing an amphetamine like high (i believe). At least, it is as effective as amphetamines or similar stimulants. As you said, it is believed to have a dopaminergic mechanism of action (maybe norepinephrine too since it was successfully used in treating ADHD/ADD), very chatty, etc. The liver damage problem associated with it shouldn't be taken too seriously as it occurred with those taking it everyday and shouldn't do much harm used less frequently. It is alot safer than amphetamines in terms of its lesser sympathomimetic activity. Unfortunate it was taken off the market I think. I would have thought it to be like amphetamines in drug-feeling minus the racing heartbeat.
