Temazepam dependance?

SWIM currently takes temazepam as he has struggle sleeping due to opiate phychological dependancy. SWIM would hate to end up having a dependancy on benzos too, does anyone know how quickly dependance begins and whatare the first symptoms. SWIM has been taking Temazepam for 4 days 20mg per night. And would expect to continue to do so.

Thanks for the help

Benzodiazepines, like temazepam (restoril), can cause withdrawl symptoms in as little as 2 weeks of prescribed usage. This should be discussed with the physician.

The physician explained that it was only a short term solution (30days). SWIM is worried still but taking Temazepam sure beats not sleeping for over 48 hours.

Re: Temazepam dependance?

In terms of advice you'll get the usual dont mix downers with uppers speach because it's hard on the heart and depressants and stimulants confuse the body somewhat but to be fair SWIF has taken this combination plenty of times with no problems and in the setting of an overdose of cocaine or in SWIY's case XTC hospitals will often use benzodiazapines like temazepam to control agitation.

In SWIF's oppinion yeh it's fine but there are associated risks. Also be aware that you probably only wanna take it once not for the following few days or you'll get rebound insomnia in the such. In some ways you have to accept at some point that your gonna feel shitty after using a strong euphoric drug through, temazepam or not

Re: Temazepam dependance?

SWIF never took it for the amount of time it was prescribed, he had enough trouble getting over the opiate dependancy and luckily never risked a benzodiazapine addiction
