Marilyn Monroe has been taking adderall for years recreationally, but one recent trip has almost scared her into never taking them again.

Monroe took a multivitamin in the morning that contained various vitamins but also a high dosage of caffeine. She then took her sister's 25 mg adderall XR. Everything was pretty cool for the whole day—euphoria, can take on the world, yadda yadda yadda.

Monroe tried to go to sleep that night and started to feel a kind of caving in feeling in the chest that reminded her of the time she had taken 800 mg of Jet Alert (caffeine pills) when she had a panic attack. She then started to think that she was having a heart attack and that she was going to die. Every time she tried to lie down she was afraid that if she fell asleep she wouldn't wake up in the morning.

Monroe than preceded to write a will which told her family and friends that she loved them and that gave her sister all of her stuff.

Monroe, of course, did not end up dying, but did end up staying up the whole night watching infomercials about cleaning supplies and the Magic Bullet.

She stopped taking adderall for a while, but now is taking them again, making sure not to take any caffeine along with it.

i get the whole swim thing, but since i'm legally prescribed adderall, it'll just be easier to stick with first person.

i am absolutely in love with adderall! i mean, what else can make you want to clean your room and do your homework with such fervor! not to mention that adderall can make even the most antisocial person have delightful conversation.

i was just recently diagnosed adderall for my ADD. i had always done well in school, but only after i had read each page five times because my mind was drifting or got notes from someone else in class because i daydreamed too much to take them myself. i was pretty sick of it, so over spring break i made an appointment with my doctor who prescribed me 30mg generic brand amphetamine salts.

over spring break, i obviously had no classes to go to or homework to do, but i popped some anyway. i cleaned my car SO well, had the most enjoyable 2 hour drive of my life, and was cured of my social anxiety at the first party i went to on addie. i never thought i could be such the social butterfly, it felt really nice

when i came back to school, i popped one to unpack my bags from spring break and stayed up all night long catching up with my friends. i didn't take one for class the next morning because i felt like i needed a little break from the daze it puts you in.

that night, however, with the load of homework i'd put off over spring break, i thought i'd take a quarter at around 9 and do some and get to bed at a pretty reasonable hour. well, that quarter lasted me until about 11. i had cleaned my entire room, bathroom, and reorganized my entire itunes library, but had not started on my homework. i decided to take another quarter, but that only led to me going outside to smoke way too many cigarettes with a friend of mine until about 1230. when i realized i had STILL not done my homework, i decided i'd pull an all nighter and just take an entire pill and finish all my homework...


that was probably the biggest mistake i've ever made in my entire life. at about 130, as i had just cracked open the william faulkner novel i had to finish that night (ughhhhh), i started to feel really weird sensations in my chest. almost like the nervous butterflies you get in your stomach, but they were in my chest. being the hyperchondriac that i am, i immediately knew the amphetamine was doing something real terrible to my heart.

i started FREAKING out. i tried to continue reading, but it was just pointless to try to ignore the feelings in my chest. i decided to stop reading, and try to lay down and go to sleep. i pretty much laid there for 30 minutes with my hand on the pulse point on my neck, getting so worried with each palpitation i felt. it was almost like my heartbeat was hiccopping. then came the worst feeling i've ever felt, about 2-3 seconds of NO HEARTBEAT. i felt it throughout my entire body. my legs began to feel weak and cold. i pretty much assumed i would die that night. thinking i do not want to die in my PJs, i got dressed and decided i should step out for some fresh air.

as i went outside, i looked down at my legs, they were turning a frightening shade of dark red, almost purplish, and they had goosebumps on them that would not go away. i sat outside feeling my heartbeat go from fast, to slow, to the scary hiccups, to the brief pause and back again, getting more and more anxious as it happened. eventually i went back inside and layed in bed, hoping i wouldn't die and the adderall would wear off soon.

at around 7:30, i finally fell asleep. i woke up feeling like i had the worst hang over of my life and a chest that said i smoked 3 packs of cigarettes the night before, which is actually pretty tempting when you're on adderall, but i knew that i hadn't.

my only guess is that the 45mg of adderall i took that night was simply too much for my heart to handle. i was a little nervous as i snorted a 25mg xr today, but it went just fine and now here i am writing this huge essay on adderall when i should be writing one on edgar lee masters. oops?

i haven't really done any homework or gone to class on adderall yet, but i'm sure it'll work wonders! i have a 6 page paper to write tomorrow, but i know as soon as i swallow one of my little orange babies i'll pump it out in no time

i hope all of you enjoy your future endeavors with addie, but if you ever start feeling the weird butterfly sensation in your chest, please grab a bottle of water and calm down. i'm pretty sure all my worrying just exacerbated it, to be honest.

My roommate likes Adderall, but not as much as Desoxyn. Subtle differences, she says. Adderall gives her a lot more drive and energy to do schoolwork and stuff like cleaning, laundry, etc., but she'll also get kind of irritable. Some Ativan gets rid of that for her, though. She usually just swallows it--not for the high, but just to be more productive, but when she snorts it she'll get really talkative and hyper for a while. She has depression and the lack of motivation is really a problem, so the Adderall works well. She doesn't see a reason to take tons and binge on it to stay awake for days, it's more practical to use it to get things done.

Swim's experience from last week in time line form... lol

7:30 am - Swim wakes up and takes 120mg of xr.
8:15 am - Swim starts to feel it kicking it... it feels like a caffeine rush at this point.
9:00 am - Swim is halfway through 2nd period at school and starts to feel euphoric
11:00 am - Swim is in 4th period and gets a massive amount of homework done
12:15 pm - Swim goes home for lunch and swim isnt thinking straight... he thinks to himself "hmm... would 50 more mg make swim feel even better?" so he takes another 50mg of xr...
1:15 pm - Swim feels like superman with 170mg in his system
3:30 pm - Swim wont go into very much detail because he has explained this in another thread... but swim goes to track practice and thought that he was going to die...
5:30 pm - swim comes home from practice and feels really good again... after he calms down and isnt panicking
10:00 pm - Swim decides that he wants to stay up all night and do homework.
7:30 am (next day) - its been 24 hours since the initial dose and swim still feels pretty good... he takes 30mg (his prescription) because he doesnt want to crash at school...
10:00 pm - The adderall has worn off and swim feels very tierd... but surprisingly he never felt hungover like he usually does. Swim goes to bed early.

Swim tried it about a year ago and said it was amazing. He felt like he could do anything he put his mind to, was very sociable and talkative even with people he never had met before.

The only downside Swim had was the whole nite he sat in bed tossing and turning and every time swim tried to close his eyes they would just open back up.

SWIM's first experience with Adderall was a couple months ago, SWIM took 8 10 MG Adderall XR's (blue kind) because they were stupid and didn't read up on how XR is different fron IR, so SWIM stayed up three days in a row, at the peak of their speedy goodness they spent over three hours sectioning out clips of an anime to be displayed on the PS3 browser (for those unfamiliar, you can set 15 seconds clips to be displayed from the main browser of the PS3, it's just to give you an idea of what is in the episode).. SWIM has a piece of paper with times and frames (eg; 15:21 frame 16) of where he was to start the recording.

SWIM went back a day or two later and laughed at the fact. As of late though, SWIM tends to just play video games while speeding, Diablo 2, Titan Quest, Battlefield 2.. SWIM can't get into RPG's like Final Fantasy while on it, but they sure do enjoy Titan Quest and Diablo 2 a lot, they must have clicked the left mouse button a million times one night while playing.

When swim takes it he doesnt even go to bed... The speediness usually lasts for 20 hours for swim.

Swim was wondering (sorry for a disgusting question)... does swiy ever masturbate or have sex while on adderall? Swim thinks it feels 100 times better lol.

SWIM was cleaning his truck today and found a 20mg pill of Adderall (orange kind). He took it figuring someone he gave a ride to must have dropped it. He had a little energy boost and moderate euphoria. Peak effects came about 40 minutes to an hour after taking it. He is still feeling slight effects about 3 hours after taking it, but they are diminishing quickly. His truck is very clean now!

The Adderall was good enough for him to want to try it agin, and he thinks 40mg will probably be his perfect dose. 20mg was a good starter dose to feel the effects and get a small high.

SWIM noticed that while the euphoria had generally faded at about the 4 hour mark, he to this point is still feeling slightly high. He noticed increased energy and a strong urge to talk to other people. He is pretty sure at this point his pill was of the XR variety.

swim has a prescription for it and so does his mom,swim loves his uppers,,,and his downers,,and all arounders.but beetween his mom and him they get 220 10 mg and 30 30 mg,plus to calm down at night they have 120 solmas with to refelis and perks 10,with ambian 10mg,
he loves to "tweak" on his meds with his mom,wake up in the morning and does a line,he never takes his pills oral,they bead and bead and clean but go trhu one prescription before the other one,and when there all out they feel like shit and eat and eat and get super lazy.he loves them and hes doing some right now as hes looking up conspiracy therorys,the first time he ever "abused" it was in a rehab,he had to cheack it and at the time he was nieve to it,he always trys not to stay up long but he loves them since he just moved and has no connects besides prescriptions,but before that he smoke weed every day in alaska and tweaked on actual shard,im suprised he lasted 3 months with nothing but prescription and booze,but he missis alaskan crhonic alot and shard 2,but adderal has alot of better traits then shard,

My experience with Adderall (amphetamine-salts) put some of my dreams into reality. Before sharing my experience, it is important to understand what made me want to experience Adderall.

By dream - to - reality, I don't mean accomplishing results; however, Adderall provided a way to achieve them. Many people don't know what they could possibly accomplish when on this effective stimulant which brings me to a point:

-In the United States, only 4 million are diagnosed for ADD and treated with a pharmaceutical stimulant. In addition to that, about 1 more million use these type of drugs illegally (exclude methamphetamine unless its "dextro")

I have been prescribed Adderall mainly because I needed a enhancement in my everyday boring ass routine. I was tired of attending school (5 hours) and work (9 hours) every single day(one day off from work). To be honest, I do have trouble concentrating/focusing on subjects that may interest me or disinterest, so I convinced my self to believe it was okay to consume this medication. I performed a nice speech to a neurologist, and received Adderall (10mg IR x2 day) - I knew I was going to need another convincing speech to increase my dosage already.

Another person took over me when I started taking Adderall. I enjoyed schoolwork and my job which involves fixing/troubleshooting computers and network related equipment. I became very creative and sounded intelligent (got random compliments from clients at work). However, I definitely enjoyed being extremely confident the most out of all the positive effects.

I actually had fooled myself in believing that life was perfect and I loved it. In reality, well... fuck reality. At least for now. I was tired of being lonely (no social life) and extremely un-happy because I couldn't share my feelings with anyone (displayed a fake happy me all the time).

I'm on my third week and have a second appointment in about 8 days. I hope to continue using adderall until I get sick of it. By the way, that's never going to happen. I plan on asking for a increase in dosage because 10mg * 2 a day doesn't last enough for my 13-14 hour days. It sure did the first week though .. noticed tolerance builds up fast (and yes I know if you are reading this and you're new to adderall, this is your worst nightmare).

I also wanted to share my view on drugs in general. When someone uses meth or cocaine, it's not the drugs fault if you ruin your life, it's yours. Our society can't face the truth and the minority of us have to suffer because of these people. I don't give a fuck about how meth made you lose your job, girlfriend, etc... When used responsibly, methamphetamine can and will benefit a person and change their life for the better. There are many organized ways to make these drugs legal and safe for the responsible people that want to use it. It sickens me so much when people post their experiences about how they lost everything they had in their life when consuming meth, and than people feel sorry and have sympathy for that person who was involved. Why do people congratulate the drug user when he is clean and rehabilitated? Why can't people be awarded when using meth responsibly? -- YOU ARE THE EXACT REASON WHY I HAVE TO VISIT MY DOCTOR TO GRAB A PRESCRIPTION EVERY MONTH.

So my pet duck has only done adderall twice. The first time she was sitting around the house, bored out of her fucking head. She did 30 mgs orally. It was damn good, she loves the light feeling in her chest. Like there's a fire in her heart, only a good fire. She drank like a million cans of diet coke and watched Repo the Genetic Opera.

The second time, she was hanging out with a friend of hers and they ended up buying some addies of this kid wih an old prescription. The pills were old as fuck, bu they weren't worried. Over the course of the day she took maybe 60 mgs? It was a good fucking day. Although, she smoked all her cigs. Her friend and she did all sorts of stuff she normally wouldn't have the motivation for, like go to the mall and stuff. However, my pet duck never really feels like doing work when she's on adderall.

Just hearing the word "productive" made her feel a little down. Just like, "Ew, don't say that fucking word!"

Somehow, she ended up in the ass end of nowhere in a Starbucks when she was coming down. It was a frightening come down! Her heart was pounding so hard and her head really hurt. Her friend wasn't coming down and he just would stop talking. She was really irritable. She didn't want to do any more, though. Her previous coming down feelings had been a lot milder. It was like her body was saying, "Enough is enough!"

You know, come to think of it, I don't think she ate that entire day. Neither did her friend. Her friend almost passed out when he tried to run for a little bit. He was like, "Oh fuck, tunnel vision," so she made him sit down.

All in all my duck thinks adderall is fun, but it's not her favorite. But now after writing this she really wants some. xD

AFOAF uses adderall to stay up for exams. She tried offering it to SWIM, but SWIM declined and just relied on coffee. Now SWIM's friend is addicted to it. She can't study without it. SWIM is thankful she didn't take the pill - but SWIM is still very addicted to coffee. SWIM is trying to lessen the "addiction" with supplements.

My friend is again using recreational adderall. He says that amphetamines are his favorite drug, but he did not go actively searching for them. He mostly just lets them fall in his lap and uses them only occasionally (every couple months or so). SWIM has tried vyvance and finds it is not as effective as standard adderall.

Right now, SWIM is tweaking rather nicely. He took 40mg of adderall in pill form and hour apart and snorted another 20mg about 4.5 hours later. SWIM agrees with the addictive potential of this drug, but be comes across adderall so rarely that he would not have enough of a supply to develop an addiction.

The effects of his dose include slight disorientation (perhaps caused by the aleve mixture), a rather high level of euphoria (not quite on the level of oxycontin or large dose opiates, however). The high is different and SWIM says he has a tingly feeling all over. SWIM should note that he has a low tolerance to amphetamines as a 20mg dose will produce mild euphoria. SWIM also finds that taking an aleve 15-30 minutes after dropping a pill or immediately before snorting will help to decrease his energy level and allow him to take larger doses for higher euphoria without bouncing off the walls. SWIM also enjoys playing the drums of Rock Band while he is tweaking and is quite good. My friend tells me that side effects to this dose, for him, include cold sweats and a rare twitch or two but that he does not seem to have an increased heart rate as he has had before(also a possible effect of using the aleve in combination). SWIM should also note that he believes his low tolerance and therefore low dosage have contributed to his lack of experiencing a true adderall comedown or hangover (except for exhaustion from staying up all night sometimes).

DISCLAIMER: The taking of aleve with adderall is a drug combination and caution should always be used when mixing drugs. My friend wrecked a motorcycle 2 months ago and still has mild pain in his right shoulder, which is why he first started taking adderall and aleve together. SWIM did not find any evidence of toxic interactions as many people who use prescription adderall likely take an occasional OTC pain medication, but the combination is assumed safe for recommended doses and caution should be used when taking a recreational dose of adderall with a recommended dose of aleve. SWIM does not suggest going over the recommended medicinal dose for this combination, he has tried more than the recommended dose with the same dose of adderall and it did not significantly increase the effects enough to say that taking more is worth the risks associated with taking more than the recommended dose.

Watching my friend today (he is kind of bingeing on non-XR adderall, taking two or three in the morning but no more during the day). He has moved to snorting mosty, saying that the effects are much more noticeable from one pill and it hits harder than two that he drops. He says dropping two of them has mild effects for 4-6 hours but using his technique (which I'm going to describe in the next paragraph) he gets a nice instant high that lasts for almost as long.

His technique is that he drops one pill two hours before he snorts. His crushing technique is also interesting as he crushes about 1/2 to 3/4 of the pellets and purposely leaves some whole. He says the dropped pill and the snorted pill peak together and then the uncrushed pellets help to keep the high going for as long as dropping them. He is planning to up the dosage soon to a more typical recreational level but that his experiment worked.

He also uses his aleve technique on the first day, but on the second day after he has stayed up all night he does not want to do the aleve as he does not want to lose any energy from the pills. He says that the aleve and adderall combination that was reported above creates an intense body tingling sensation that he does not experience otherwise when taken with a 60mg recreational dose (he has a very low natural tolerance, which is perhaps why he likes these things so much, but 60mg seems to be enough to keep him high for many hours) but it will make him feel rather lethargic and with the tingling sensations he often does not want to leave the couch for anything.
