Drug Counselling
Hello, a friend of mine recently got arrested for possession of pot, and because she's still 17 they put her on a contract, and one of the conditions is that she needs to attend drug counselling to see if she's addicted or not. (This is in Canada) Does anyone know if this means she will be drug tested? Or will they just talk to her and ask her questions?

Here in the US, it is usually part of the terms of probation. Especially for a minor.

several years ago, when SWIM was a minor, he was arrested for possesion of marijuana. This was in california, USA. He was put of Informal Probation, and sent to 6 weeks drug counseling. He did NOT have to drug test. However, keep in mind this was INFORMAL probation, he has no experience with formal probation.

My guess would be no, it doesn't mean drug testing. Especially since this took place in the USA, with harsher drug laws.

I would be very surprised if there would be no drug testing. Testing is the only way for the court to find out if the use has continued. But I have no knwoledge on how this is in Canada.
