Re: Overdoing Alcohol: Most memorable occasion?

one night swim downed a fifth (750ml) of some cheap bourbon called "ancient age" at a friend's house party. it was a great night as far as swim remembers, but he obviously blacked out at some point, because he woke up the next day on his friend's couch covered in blood and with a really sore face. wondering what the fuck happened, swim stumbled to the bathroom and looked in the mirror. to his surprise and horror, the left side of his bottom lip had what appeared to be a hole in it and he had a big knot on his left cheek.

everyone else was still asleep, so swim decided to walk back to his place (about 2 miles away - swim does not have a car). for some reason, he stopped at a chinese restaurant and ordered some food to bring home with him. the girl at the counter gave him quite an odd look. later that day, swim asked his friends what the fuck happened to his face. nobody really knows for sure, though.

swim's friends left him passed out on the couch (the same couch he woke up on) to go to another nearby party around 3:30am. the only clue as to what happened was some blood near the front door. swim and his friends figure that swim got up to go outside for some reason, but instead of grabbing the doorknob and opening, swim must have stumbled in his stupor and slammed his head on something (the floor seems most likely).

swim was left with a ruined shirt and a face that looked horrible for about 2 weeks. it's almost a year later, and he can still feel the knot in his lip, which he is pretty sure he bit all the way through. luckily, he retained his charming good looks

that night really changed swim's ideas regarding drinking. he has had some tough lessons in the past, but this one has stuck with him the longest. swim is getting older and he needs to look out for himself better than he used to. he is just glad that something worse didn't happen.

oh, to make matters worse, swim got pranked because of his face. one of the managers where he works told swim the police had called looking for swim about that night. given swim's past, this was a horrible joke to play, as swim wasn't exactly pristine in the eyes of the law and was trying to stay out of trouble to get his bachelor's degree. swim got some friendly revenge, though

Re: Overdoing Alcohol: Most memorable occasion?

Swims got 1000's of stories, most of which Swim would rather forget.

Waking up in hospital/ police station (more times than Swim can remember)/ forest/ Blackpool (200 miles away, Swim drove but has no memory of it)/ next to an electricity pilon junction box behind 8 foot steel spiked fence!?/ random peoples houses flats who Swim dont know/ and many more.

Swim hasnt had a drink since beginning of december. He feels much better for it.

Re: Overdoing Alcohol: Most memorable occasion?

it was swims good mates 21st and he got a party bus to go to New york city. Well every one wanted to get amped and stupid but swim was the one who over did it the most.. It was a two hour bus ride and mid way the bus pulled over for swim who was projectile vomiting after dancing with the fattest chicks on the bus. Next thing swim knows he wakes up in the middle of a NYC hospital with iv's stuck in his arm no shoes and shirt gone. Swim looks at the time and sees its 3 am exactly the same time the party bus was suppose to return home, swim frantically rips the iv's out to catch the bus yells at the nurses to release him he finally sighnes the papers and leaves to only find out the bus left and is all ready half way home. Swim decides to call a good lady friend who agreed to meet him at penn station which was quite a distance away, with no shoes swim developed blood blisters on his feet. While waiting for the train swim was passing out and sleeping at the station while the cops kept accusing him of being a homeless hobo and telling him he couldn't sleep in the station, finally swims friend meets with him they go to her house where swim waits for his father, rather than his father be angry at him like he usually would swim nd his father go and get a puppy and return home...... all in all a great night

Re: Overdoing Alcohol: Most memorable occasion?

swim once blacked out for about a day. new year's eve 2003, swim decided he was going to do what he so affectionately referred to as "the gauntlet." the night began with swim and a small group of friends doing some ecstasy and smoking the rest of their weed. a few hours later, as the pills were beginning to wear off, swim decided to begin drinking (what's new year's without some alcohol?).

well, swim was really dedicated this night (he kept talking about how he was going to run the gauntlet). he had bought an entire case of beer for himself. he proceeded to drink beer after beer (he might have bonged a couple as well, it's tough to remember), and he did a shot or two with his buddies to ring in the new year. of course, swim did occasionally drink some hydrating fluids by mandate of his more sober friends. somewhere along the way, swim blacked out, but he apparently stayed up until 8 or 9 in the morning playing playstation with his friends and finishing the case of beer. swim has a fuzzy memory of an acquaintance coming by in the early evening of january 1st with some SHITTY weed (the guy almost gave it to them for free, but ended up taking $5 for a quarter ounce since he needed some cash).

next thing swim remembers, it's 10am on january 2nd. swim has the worst hangover of his life (not surprisingly), during which he has a debilitating headache and pukes/dry heaves every 20 to 30 minutes for about 6 or 7 hours. so, swim ran his gauntlet: ecstasy, weed, a case of beer, and some liquor. he knows virtually nothing of what happened on january 1, 2004 (his friends said he got up a few times that day), and he probably came dangerously close to causing himself serious harm. swim is older and wiser these days, but he will always look back at "the gauntlet" with a fond memory of that time in his life when things were much simpler than they seemed (and MUCH simpler than they are now).

Re: Overdoing Alcohol: Most memorable occasion?

Maybe this thread should be entitled "Least memorable occasion"

SWIM has had some heavy times with alcohol, but he can now take lots of drinks (on his last night out he had 23) without losing control. However, if he has access to an actual bottle (medium or large) of whiskey, he can't be trusted and will get to a point where he necks it and loses a lot of memories. This has only happened twice, but SWIM now always tries to avoid buying bottles of whiskey.

The least memorable time for SWIM was when him and some friends were in the executive lounge (payed for by SWIMs rich Navy friend) in a posh hotel. SWIM can't remember even doing the heavy drinking, but after about 5 drinks he drank a whole medium sized bottle of Jack Daniels. He threw up all over himself. Then when the New year countdown got to 3, SWIM staggered out of the lift into the foyer where a party was going on, half naked, covered in vomit, foaming at the mouth (SWIM can't remember this). When SWIM woke up there were 3 extra people there who he couldn't remember arriving, he had a condom filled with moisturiser in his boxers, and lying next to him was a mistletoe headband with a letter from "Big Black Pete". This was an elaborate practical joke that SWIM fell for and believed for nearly two days (the lies were very convincing), and SWIM was traumatised.

The other time was less bad, SWIM drank a couple of beers followed by half a liter of Jameson's (whiskey) while stoned. He has some fleeting memories of being reverted to some incredibly primal state where only basic thoughts were possible (i.e. in a pizza takeaway thinking "eat. HOT!!! eat. HOT!!!"). Some of the following is memory, most is what SWIM was told by his friend. SWIM was in a hotel this time too (a much cheaper one), and he got chased up four flights of stairs by a hotel worker who thought he had wandered in off the streets. SWIM had forgotten how to speak when the worker asked what room he was in, so SWIM thought the best option would be to run away and try and find his friend, but then he managed to mutter the name the hotel room was booked under. SWIM also failed to eat a pizza and ate a slice off the floor just as two girls came into the takeaway looking disgusted (real smooth). SWIM had a conversation with a random tramp who found him hilarious, then his friend went into McDonald's for a drink, SWIM kept asking "is there fries with that?" untill his friend gave up (and the McDonald's worker stopped laughing) and got him some fries, which SWIM basically threw at his face. SWIM then attacked the chip and pin (card payment) machine so SWIM's friend decided that he should really take SWIM back to the hotel room.

On the second occasion (which actually happened first), SWIM didn't throw up at all. SWIM didn't get a hangover on either occasion .

EDIT: I would like to say that the point of any of my stories here is not glamourization, sure when SWIM gets excessively drunk there is usually a few funny storied that result, but SWIM always regrets it when he crosses a certain line, and alcohol is the one drug where he might have come close to dangerous territory.

Re: Overdoing Alcohol: Most memorable occasion?

When I was 12 me and my mate decided to try alcohol for the first time. My parents went out for an hour so we helped ourselves to the following (from what my dad told me the next day anyway)

1-bottle of wine
1-bottle of port
1/2 of a litre of J&B whiskey
3/4 of My fathers £70 a bottle brandy (christ did I pay for that)
3 beers
half a litre of ouzo.

I was so drunk I remember nothing whatsoever apart from watching southpark then projectile vomiting all over my bedroom floor. Then I apperently took off all my clothes walked pass my mum who was outside (not noticing) and had a bath. I then passed out in the bath and was so incoherent I had to be dressed by my mother (christ how embarrassing).

I was repeatadly sick, and had the worst hangover of my life. The best thing that came out of it is it was a sunday that we had got drunk on and I was sent to school with the worst hangover of my life, and ended up puking on my PE teacher after he made me run around the football pitch.

Strangely it wasn't long after that SWIM realized that cannabis had a much better effect on him.

Re: Overdoing Alcohol: Most memorable occasion?

Swim once bought some cheap Egyptian vodka (250ml) and drank the whole thing.Like half an hour later, he drank a few vodka mixes (had not drank anything for more than a year) and an hour later he woke up in a taxi with his friend in the front seat.He said I blacked out and that we were going to my place...I was still drunk as hell and he had to drag me all the way to the apartment...Fucked up.

Re: Overdoing Alcohol: Most memorable occasion?

When SWIM was 12 he was at a new years-party and got some Jæger and 1 or 2 beers by his older sister.
Then SWIM got in the kitchen and helped himself of some 50% vodka, in the end SWIM had consumed the whole 70cl of the bottle, SWIM's older sister yelled at him, and since SWIM felt fine and not drunk, his sister sent him to walk home to his parents, about 5 min after begining his tour home with his cousin he began to feel inebriated and started and laughing then crying uncontrollaby.
5 min after that SWIM could barely walk and fell to ground several times.
When he got home his parents were drunk, and didn't notice SWIM was drunk, SWIM just said he was tired and went to bed only to awake and try to make his way to the toilet and puke, but only made it halfway, and he "Exorcism" vomited all over his mothers bookshelf with her dead brothers books in it.
The next day was hell...well you all know what happens the day after a alcohol overdose. His mother was hell to...hehe

SWIM has a lot more stories, like sleeping with unknown men who said they had AIDS, getting into huge fistfight with his then boyfriend and general selfmutilation.

Use alcohol cautiosly!

Re: Overdoing Alcohol: Most memorable occasion?

Christmas Eve 2008, Tallin, Estonia.

Swim was in Estonia with his Latvian girlfriend.. had a fight, broke up.. got horrifically drunk, woke up at Riga airport at around 3am christmas morning covered in blood without his wallet, phone, nothing except his passport.

Swim managed to blag a free flight from Riga to Helsinki at 6.30am, and from Helsinki managed to get a free 400km train ticket to Jyvaskyla to spend christmas with his friends.

About a month later Swim managed to get back home to the UK, and still has no idea how he passed out in one country and woke up in another, with no money, no way he could have flown, no money for a coach, strange times.

Re: Overdoing Alcohol: Most memorable occasion?

new years eve 2003 -> 2004 i had just arrived from an overseas flight where i bought a bottle of cheap absinthe. this stuff was potent. 90% alcohol. me and two friends took 3 shots each. maybe my shots were bigger but i became incapacitated quickly. they were fine though but told me they were both extremely drunk during this time. can't say i remember much of that night but i remember being picked up and thrown in to the bathtub and puking at least once...
well i woke up around 4am with a hangover, i missed the ball dropping. later on that day my mom told me how i ruined everything, everything was my fault, etc. the usual guilt trip i'm used to by now so i didn't let it get to me too much.

Re: Overdoing Alcohol: Most memorable occasion?

I go to Virginia Tech...and one of my best memories so far is getting pissass drunk and breaking into Lane Stadium...and streaking across the football field...

Oh this was on a Tuesday night as well. Nice hangover the next morning...whoops P

Re: Overdoing Alcohol: Most memorable occasion?

SWIMs got so many stories, she's not really sure which to tell.
Recently SWIM decided that alcohol was indeed her "evil" drug. Every stupid thing SWIMs ever done involved alcohol.
Weed, shrooms, X, coke, meth, pills, you name it, none of those have made her do the stupid things she has done while intoxicated on alcohol.
SWIM really has no desire to drink at all. She almost always puked and had horrific hangovers. She finally learned, only after about 20 years of drinking...
It's amazing to her that it's legal.

Re: Overdoing Alcohol: Most memorable occasion?

oh boy, way to many experiences to share but SWIM has had way to much to drink many, many times. He never used to get hangovers but does now, but doesnt vomit nearly as much. SWIM has been taking it easier lately b/c he started getting up in the middle of the night blacked out and pissing in his room whenever he got really drunk. SWIM doesnt remember doing this but his roomate wasnt to happy about it

This summer was basically a 3 month long bender for SWIM, which included needing to be put to bed by his parents two nights in a row because he couldent make it up to his room (embarrassing)

The second of those two nights was July 4th, which started with SWIM carrying two 30-racks in a tote bag and around 10 bottles of liquor past police barricades down to the beach. after consuming lots, most of which SWIM doesnt remember but does recall helping finish two bottles of tequila and had most of a bottle of gin to himself, SWIM was thrown into a car by a friend and dumped off in front of his house. SWIM was blacked out at this point but evidently walked into the same friends house, who lived a few blocks away about an hour later and started watching tv for a bit before getting kicked out. SWIM woke up the next morning without his jacket, cell phone, flip-flops, wallet, camera or bags
