Contributions to the Comedown

Over the past year, SWIM has taken note of a few situations which make the E comedown quite unpleasant. Based on these observations, SWIM has made some new resolutions for himself.

#1 - SWIM will only consume MDMA during the summer, and never during the school year. SWIM has found that any academic worry makes the comedown quite depressing, especially if there are tests or assignments that seem hopeless to pass. (SWIM just completed first year @ University, with Chem as his major - most stressful year of his life)

#2 - SWIM will never consume MDMA if he has work the next day. Too many times has there been a random occasion where SWIM ends up rolling until the early hours, only to remember that he has a set time to wake up at, and a place to be the next day. And oh man, does work ever suck, if you're dead tired and standing on your aching raver's legs for another 8 hours. Especially with school the next day

#3 - SWIM will never take public transportation by himself, after the peak of the roll has passed. Bussing home from a rave downtown is NOT fun, once you realize that everyone around you isn't also sky-high... and maybe you get that paranoid feeling that everyone knows you're on something. An even bigger con is waiting at the bus stop in cold or rainy weather.

#4 - SWIM will get a fricken girlfriend before he rolls again. One night stands, horny clubbers, friends with benefits - all of the above are fun... but SWIM has a habit of reflecting on his life during the E comedown, and always gets depressed that he hasn't found a permanent soulmate to confide in. It's especially bad if SWIM has taken an interest in a girl and has been dating her for a bit, but things haven't become official.

Girls on the mind, diesel powered buses, university life, and part time work......the four main reasons SWIM has limited his MDMA consumption. Although during the actual roll, nothing really matters, haha.

Just wondering if anyone else has similar ideas about MDMA, or if SWIM is just overly sentimental and/or easily depressed. Feel free to add your own resolutions!

The sky within this tablet is a brilliant shade of blue,
Soaring high above its clouds gives an incredible sublime view.

With wings spread wide, I radiate with beauty, strength and light,
Feeling the combined energy of the others who take flight.

A higher peace and understanding are finally mine as I ascend,
But as the cliché loves to state:
all good things will eventually end.

Falling from the stratosphere, one is quick to understand,
That gravity and reality – they both go hand in hand.

And the reality that strikes me, in post euphoria of the roll,
Is that buried beneath all these pills, lies a lonely soul.

SWIM has done the work thing. He downed the E at about 10/11pm, slept for an hour at 6:00 in the morning, had to work at 8:00am. Correction- had to open a drugstore and get all the tills ready in the CASH OFFICE. NOT pleasant. All this responsibility was on SWIM, but SWIM was so exhausted and out of it. Not a fun day.

Some resolutions for SWIM could be:

-SWIM will not take MDMA if he has a family union the next day, and/or he will be forced to reside around any parent. They can always sense something is up. SWIM sorta talks a little fast with it still in his system.

-SWIM will not take MDMA if he's already taken it reccently. As fun as it is, moderation is key. SWIM doesn't want to totally fuck up his future.

-SWIM will not go outside in the rain with a VIDEO CAMERA just because he thinks it would be fun. Now SWIM and his buddy are out $60.00 for repairs.

-SWIM will not take MDMA if there is school the next day- SWIM always needs at least one day to "recover," if you know what I mean.

-SWIM will only take MDMA with a friend. Although tempted to do it alone, SWIM knows it would ultimately be a waste of a roll.

swim will not take MDMA if he has anything that requires him to be lets say, on form, in the next 2 days. although he is usually tired during the first day of comedown, the second is usually more depressing since there is no afterglow or good memories from the previous night to revel in.
for example if swim has to deal with any family members he will not take X for 2 days before. he can usually deal with university situations but will be slow and perform badly, he also wants to avoid taking X before any important social occasions, any event where he is expecting to meet new people or having to branch out and make good impressions, this will not be fun if he is on a comedown

the only thing is though i think that man always worries about something, that is the way we are... i dont think there is much point in your friend who isn't you waiting til he has a girlfriend... maybe its just me but i think there is always somthing nagging at your mind, the comedown will just bring out whatever it is at the moment... your friend may feel like things will be ok when he's got a girlfriend, but maybe as soon as you get one you will be dying to end the relationship... or maybe you will be thankful for her but wish you had more money... or maybe your life will be perfect, but you feel like you treated people badly in the past and did not have enough respect, and you're worried how to put it right... im sure there is always something nagging at you, you can make your life better but i dont think you can be free of worry.

however if he decided to wait for a bit til he has a girlfriend that can only be good thing... i know i just contradicted myself but you cant get away from the fact that the less you take of this amazing drug the better its gonna be, and the better ur life in general will be... i have trouble tryin 2 remember that sometimes.
