Canada - Police seize $29K worth of Oxycontin

Police have seized more than $39,000 worth of drugs and money from three women following a traffic stop on June 14, according to Greater Sudbury Police Service.

A Sudbury woman and two other women from Ajax have been arrested.

Police searched the vehicle and found 100 80-mg oxycodone pills, a debt list and a small quantity of marijuana. A search warrant was then executed at a local hotel, where a safe containing another 227 80-mg oxycodone polls and $9,936 in Canadian currency and several more debt lists were found.

The drugs have a total street value of $29,485.

3 women running that, huh? Sounds like they pretty much nicked the whole crew. And quite a stash too.

I always wonder how they come up with their estimates. This one is pretty close...better than last time. But to be fair, that picture may have had nothing to do with the actual takedown.

$29,485....... ? Does this figure seem strange to anyone? It looks pretty strange to me. You don't see too many estimates that get broken down to the exact dollar amount, at least I don't see too many. Usually they are rounded up or down a little. Why the exact dollar amount on this one?

I can't member where the grow house was located, but the meth seizure was in California. This one is in Canada; maybe it has something to do with the way our countries do press-releases...

Could be that they since they found a precise amount of pills, they felt comfortable enough using local data to come up with the estimate? Giving the public a precise figure could be used as a tactic to show how they are being precise and analytical...
