Just curious really as to how many SWIYs on the forum enjoy using on their own? I'm sure most have smoked on their own and drank on their own. SWIS has always enjoyed a relaxing joint in the evening, whether in company or alone. When it comes to other things (and MJ for that matter) SWIS has generally preferred to break the bread socially so to speak. However, over the last couple of years, circumstances have dictated (majority of partying friends now in another country) that SWIS has travelled alone on many occasions. Whilst enjoyable, it never seems quite the same to SWIS as the communal experience. Any thoughts people?

In the past, I almost always went solo on my psychedelic journeys. I didn't know anyone who used similar substances and I'm a very solitary individual anyway. I prefered that I be alone where I could focus on what I wanted to focus on and not have distractions of trying to keep anyone else entertained or what have you. I enjoyed the experience much more this way and was able to learn a lot about how my mind works and how the universe works in general. Now, I'm married though and while my wife doesn't use as often as I do, I like to have her around during my sessions. She's a great trip-sitter and often has good ideas about things to do. I still don't like crowds, but I can tolerate them better than I used to .

Not to imply that I use psychoactive substances to trip...high on life and stuff.

SWIM enjoys starting a trip with a select group of friends, just messing around lunching about different things around us, basically acting like completely insane people together. Then around the halfway point SWIM likes to retire to his seperate area alone to finish the trip off with some introspection then much needed sleep to subconciously mull over and update his mentality with any new realizations he's tripped into.

Swim only does her psychedelics with boyo, he likes doing them by himself as well and with me. however weed swim can do by herself or with others shes not bothered. Swim never likes anyone one around when she does smack doesn't mind boyo thou.

SWIM also likes to trip alone, other people tend to distract swim when he's in a certain mindset of exploring. But sometimes it can be fun to trip with other people because then you can have a lot of fun exploring together if all goes well.

SWIM also used to do this and used to get really engrossed in the introspection, poking a stick into dark corners that rarely saw the light of conscious day. Very illuminating, if a little uncomfortable, at times.

SWIM almost always uses alone. SWIM has no friends and wouldn't share with them if SWIM did. Trip sitters never worked for SWIM because SWIM could never find one.. hasn't been a problem so far though SWIM has a real talent for talking SWIM down from bad places...

Agree with Snapper, never needed no sitter, found out years ago they will steal your stuff while you are in another world. Swim few friends don't use, so sharing is not a issue.

SWIM tends to be the guy that dabbles in a bit of everything, while SWIM's friends do some subtances, not all. SWIM enjoys solo, or small trips, while SWIM is often a trip guide, trip sitter, ect for others.

Swim is a lone soul....he preferrs to be alone doing what he does....the only time swim really enjoys company is if his favorite girl comes over to chill...other than that swim really isn't that social except when he does his thing....

Not a huge fan of people being around. SWIM's done pot, alcohol, salvia, dex, and adderal, and at this point enjoys most of them alone. He thinks that he'll try other psychedellics alone as well, and experiment with doing them around other people.. but no promises.

Swim almost always uses alone as none of Swim's friends or family know of Swim's hobby. The only exception is a certain young lady-friend of Swim's who he is happy to share his Crack with. However, last night she selflessly helped Swim burn his way through what he foolishly thought was his supply for a week..... -sigh-

Well, I have to be honest and say that she did partake of certain acts with Swim that were prety good compensation - so it wasn't all bad

But Swim still had to go and buy some more Crack for the weekend.....

SWIM enjoys the lone journey, however, there is a definate joy that comes from watching others enjoy in there own way. People can be very entertaining....

Although SWIM thinks that tripping with group of people is real fun,tripping alone is even more enjoyable.

SWIM loves nights in and out with thier friends. However he has always enjoyed going solo on a regular basis.

There is something great about a night consuming various chemicals whilst, mixing music, or just listening to it, watchin a film or floating into where ever your mind takes you.

The problem is that anyone SWIM knows that might be interested could end up freaking out and having a bad time, or worse. SWIM is very tolerant and has a lifetime of drug taking under the belt, but no one else around SWIM does. There is nothing worse than wasting a perfectly good trip trying to reassure someone over and over again, getting tangled in their circular, repetitive arguments, and preventing stupid behavior. At least SWIM knows SWIM will not do these things ... SWIM does not like to take responsibility for other's risky behavior so SWIM doesn't ...
As far as parties, SWIM got tired of the big party thing after SWIM outgrew the grateful dead's parkinglots (and then Jerry died..). SWIM never enjoyed raves even though SWIM wrote and sequenced lots of dance music at the time. Overall, most party venues are too large. Burning man was promising, but it's too hot and dusty on the playa.

The few times swim ever shared with friends, he lost friends. Swim would get the story that someone was super familiar with the psychedelic head space and would offer an exotic mushroom or two and find out that their friend had only ever eated a quarter gram or so at once and be left with a freaky tantrum of big human baby, as said person was desroyed and slowly reborn back to themselves. They had not taken notes previous to this death-birth experience, so when they came back (baseline) they felt as if something had changed and could only remember being very afraid... so fear fucked up their heads in a way that was permanent.

Swim dialed the phone like swim had for years, and swims friend quit being on the other end of the line. Swim is sorry.

Be it DMT or shrooms or whatever else,SWIM as a rule always travels alone.Ther's been the exeption,but some of the others always manage to think a party of it and that's what it ends up becoming.And for SWIM it's more of a sacrament than a party so he prefers doing it alone.Especially DMT.

SWIM doesn't smoke a J alone, only on very few occasions smokes his bong under the shower(alone).
SWIM thinks smoking a J is a social thing which he likes doing with friends.
SWIM only does X or speed with friends, usually when going out, but had many occasions where he went home and was tripping alone.
SWIM dislikes this because he wants to be with other people then, especially when SWIM is on X.
The only thing SWIM only does alone is Ketamine, he tried a big amount once with a good friend, but his trip was interrupted all the time.
When SWIM is on other pschydelics, SWIM wants to be with other people as well, prefferably trippers.

Hey, I'm with psych0naut mostly.

I wrote this pretty cool reply before, but it failed to load, and now I'm left with reconstructing my reply, which is a really bad thing. So, I'll skim the major ideas, and leave it at that!

SWIM loves to get high alone. She prefers certain drugs whilst in the company of other people, but because she is a a single mum, she often finds herself stuck at home on the weekends, with the kids in bed. So, SWIM has 2 choices in this situation:

1. Sit there bored shitless because she is alone, or........

2. Get it on anyway!

SWIM does the latter, of course. There's something about getting high alone that promotes a state of self-growth-awareness-appreciation-realisation that you just don't get when you're with other people. SWIM has become a much more self-aware person through taking drugs alone.

Drugs should make you a better person, not a lesser person. Use them to your benefit, don't abuse them to your detriment.

SWIM is definately a better person for using drugs, particularly in solo-situations!

So, yeah, get high alone!!!
