Storing/Preserving DMT

SWIM is planning (is completely ready to) begin a DMT extraction process. He has 1000 grams of mimosa, and is wondering, if he does indeed extract a large amount of DMT at one time, how the crystals should be stored and how long they will last. Help would be greatly appreciated (by SWIM of course).
